1992 - 1998

It froze for years. The European continent was in a state of permanent winter. At first scientists were startled and surprised. The Earth still turned so how could one continent suddenly be locked in a season.?

Suspicions immediately turned to a powerful ability user. The public knew there was no other option, and tensions rose as the government did not confirm it. Two years after it started, the public had their confirmation.

He appeared, like a classic villain. White hair, and an albino skin as if frozen himself. He did not leave it at that though. He aptly named himself Winter. A boring name, but the person who shouted that at him was frozen and shattered.

It only took a few days before a resistance formed, normal humans supported by the ability users.. Sadly there were only a few dozen known ability users, of which three were powerful enough to battle someone on this level, leaving the resistance their numbers low.

Not wishing to risk the world's security Miro chose to come alone. To stop Winter. He tried peace first, to negotiate Winter's release of the continent, to come peacefully and use his powers for good.

Winter rejected the offer, attacking Miro whose powers protected him, scattering the beams of energy which froze whatever they struck. Their battle lasted several hours, hit after hit was exchanged. Dozens died, hit by Winter's loose energy as it was reflected and scattered off Miro's body.

Upon his defeat, Winter was taken into custody and placed in a special cell on the American continent so he could be removed from the population. Yet his powers reached out and created a permanent state of winter around the prison, covering most of the continent.

Now seeing Winter's true power and his limitations, scientists thought up a prison made of materials that would not break from freezing and protective suits for the jailors. Three years later, Winter was moved to a prison built for him, in Antarctica where he would try it again. However, instead of harming people with a permanent winter, he would help the Earth by keeping Antarctica from falling apart.
