fourteen minutes until you'll have to go to seokjin'si had no other choice then to block his number. i'll unblock it eventually, i just don't want his countdown bothering me. but then again maybe i'll just leave his number blocked. he always sends me the weirdest things that make me question his sanity even more than i already do.
i got up from my couch and grabbed my phone and wallet and left my apartment. i hailed a taxi to take me to seokjin's apartment building. when we arrived i felt slightly guilty using his spare keycard i got from jungkook to get in but i was for a good cause, right? i used the elevator to get to the floor he lived on and started searching for his apartment.
once i found it i stood in front of the door for a while. i felt bad. i shouldn't have let jungkook convince me into bothering him again but i guess there's no turning back now. i raised my hand to knock but stopped as i heard voices. one i recognised as seokjin's but the other was unfamiliar. i could only just make out what they were saying.
"you have to be more careful. i don't want what happened last time to repeat itself."
"do you think i do? i didn't ask for this to happen it's my friend's fault. i already made my opinion clear so it should be fine." i recognised this voice as seokjin's.
"i know, i'm sorry. i'm just worried. the last time someone like him came into our lives..."
"i know. i'm sorry too. let's just forget about it, everything will turn out fine."i felt bad for eavesdropping so i decided to make my presence known by knocking on the door. the duo's conversation instantly halted followed by shushing noises, then seokjin's opened the door. i expected him to open it like a normal person would buy instead he opened just enough so he could stick his head through to look out. once he saw me he visibly stiffened.
"what are you doing here? how did you even get in this building?" i rubbed my neck awkwardly, looking down to avoid his harsh glare.
"well i," i tried to think of the best way to say what i was going to, especially after i heard the conversation he had just had which obviously would've been about me. "please help me. i promise it'll just be one job and after that we don't ever have to see each other ever again." i looked up at him, putting on my best 'please' face. he let out a sigh and rubbed his forehead, obviously starting to be really pissed. he let out another sigh before speaking.
"fine. but you have to keep your promise. I never want to see you again after this." he paused then continued, "and don't ever come to my apartment again. don't you know the meaning of personal space? if you need to talk to me just come to my shop or tell jungkook you need to see me."
"okay. sorry. i'll come to your shop tomorrow so we can talk about it. you can go back to your guest now." i said, bowing slightly and starting to walk off."wait, guest? what do you mean?" seokjin seemed frozen in his place with a confused look of his face.
"i heard you talking to someone when i arrived." i explained, watching his face turn from confusion to worry just for a second before it went back to confusion. this time the confused look seemed false.
"uh, you must've been hearing things. there's no one here with me."
"oh... okay." i replied, trying to ignore seokjin's obvious lie. "i'll be going now, see you tomorrow." i awkwardly waved goodbye and starting walking again.as seokjin disappeared back into his apartment, closing the door behind him, i raced back and put my ear to the door.
"jesus, that was troublesome." i heard seokjin say.
"why'd you even agree to him?" the other voice asked and i frowned. so he lied to me.
"if i didn't he'd probably keep coming back and then he'd find you."
"i- wait. he's still there."
"what?" i heard footsteps coming towards the door and quickly ran to the elevators, pressing the down button repeatedly as if it would make an elevator come faster. as soon as the elevator arrived i dived in and presses the button to close the doors. the doors closed just as seokjin began to come into sight.i let out a huge sigh as the elevator started to travel down. who even was that guy seokjin was talking to? and why did he lie to me, saying that there was no one with him? no matter how i thought about it, it was still a suspicious situation. i'll make sure to ask jungkook about it later.
