I remember it as clear as if it happened an hour ago.
It was august and I had just moved into a new town. Reason for that? My parents divorced.
I was always a shy child when I was growing up, probably because of my mom. She was strict and never let me do anything, one time when I brought friends over she yelled and slapped me in front of them. I could have said something to stop them from divorcing, but I didn't.
I was only sixteen back then, but I was given a choice whether I want to stay with my mom or go with my dad. Obviously I went with my dad. We moved into a new city, my uncle lived there.
The house that we moved into was pretty big, I was given my own room. And since my dad always supported me and my dreams - he bought me a piano. Not a Yamaha electronic one, but a real one.
You know, when I was younger, I always dreamed of being a musician or a singer. I used to write my own songs and create my own melodies, my dad loved hearing me sing. But I guess later on I just realized that writing is a bit more interesting to me.
Anyway, back to what I was saying, it was my first day there and I decided to explore the town. I wasn't actually the type to do that, but I needed to know mu surroundings. As a matter of fact, I used to avoid any human contact possible, I didn't like talking to strangers, it would give me anxiety.
I set out at around 4 PM that day. The great thing about the town was that it wasn't big, so there wasn't that much to explore. I remember that the first thing that caught my attention was a shop, it had a big neon sign on it that read "Pizza Cake". It still stands there and let me tell you -it sells the most delicious dishes ever.
Actually, there were quite a lot of these small shops around there. A few clothing stores, cafes and others that sold things needed for everyday life.
I think the most important thing that day happened when I reached the park. The park had almost no trees, but it had millions upon millions of flowers. And it was then when the lighting struck somewhere and loud thunder roared through the sky.
At first it was only drizzling a bit, but soon it turned into heavy rain and I was left in a middle of a town with no umbrella. Not that I was complaining, I always loved rain, the odd sensation of rain hitting your skin made me relax, it felt as if I was slowly melting and become one with the ground underneath my feet.
However, I knew that my dad would be worried, so I decided to find shelter, unfortunately, it was sunday and all stores were closed. I did however see a bus stop, so I approached it and sat down on the bench.
Most people would say that their day was ruined, but this rain made my day better.
I think that it was when I noticed someone's stare on me, so I turned my head to the right and there he was. It was the first time I saw the person who was gonna change my life.
He was standing in the rain, his wet dyed hair was covering his forehead, but not his golden eyes. He was just staring at me as if I was an alien, and honestly it made me pretty uncomfortable.
He wasn't approaching me, he was just letting himself get soaked in the rain while keeping his gaze on me. I looked away, I couldn't do it.
I didn't dare to look into that direction again, but once the rain stopped and the thunders went away I glanced to my right, he wasn't there anymore.
