I'm Never Alone Anymore

I have had intriguingly beautiful deep green eyes since I was born. I wasn't born with blue eyes like I was supposed to. Even now they still get darker each year. I like to wear short shorts and skirts and dark clothing. I've had naturally black hair since birth and I like to keep in shorter and on rare occasions I let it grow out. Sometimes I dye my hair tips just for fun but then I cut those long tips off again. That's my little intro to my character in the story.

~Ari's POV~

Kyle and I had been close friends since fourth grade and this year was no different. It was seventh grade and he was in only two of my classes and that was social studies and math. It was February 3, 2014 and everybody was excited for the dance on Friday. I was excited too. But I was even more excited when Kyle asked me. He was in my math class and he had passed a note to me and I was dumbfounded when I read it.

Will you go to the dance with me? And to go out with me? It read in messy writing. I read it at least five times to make sure I wasn't imagining it. I wasn't and I told him yes. He smiled my most favorite smile in the world and we held hands the rest of the class. His small hands were warm and dry as mine were stone cold. He wouldn't be my first real boyfriend when he asked because I had kept a secret from everyone before. His older brother Nick, was my boyfriend since we'd met in fourth grade up until we understood we couldn't be together anymore and we broke up. I still had feelings for him even though I shouldn't care at all like he did. He still smiled at me whenever we saw each other but that was the end of it. I missed his big warm hugs. He had a girlfriend now anyway, after all, he was a sophomore! The end of class bell rang and I grabbed my stuff and walked out with Kyle. Jared kind of stared at me dumbfounded but I didn't care. He was in my study hall and had become my little spy on Kyle because they had been since like, forever. I slowly walked with my best friend Anna to our next class. Reading. We talked a bit after we were let in the classroom.

"So, what's with you and Kyle there last period?" She asked me smiling as if she had a guess already.

"Um- hehe- he kind of asked me out? And to the dance at the same time..?" I smiled and her eyes widened.

"Really? Really? Really?!" She asked me jumping up and down we me.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm so excited!" My other two friends, Jenna and Kaite walked in.

"What's happening? Or what happened?" Jenna asked grinning already. Kaite was confused too.

"C'mere you two," I whispered and they huddled in, "I'm dating Kyle Brooke!" I whispered and they started squealing happily. We all started jumping up and down again.

"Ladies, would you please have a seat unless you all want detentions?" Mrs. Martin our teacher yelled at us all. We quickly took our seats and my face flushed red. When everyone knew about Kyle and I, I wouldn't be known as Ari or Chicken Girl, I would be known as Kyle's girlfriend to all of the boys.
