They said I could go home now.
I walked outside the building to see Josh standing there. "Oh! Uh, hi Tyler!" He said.
"Um... hi Josh. They said I could go home now." I replied.
"Oh, do you wanna walk with me?" Josh asked.
"Sure." I shrugged. I didn't feel like doing anything else.
As we were walking, we were working up some sort of conversation, and it was kind of awkward because we didn't know what to talk about.
"Tyler, um...take this. It's a rubber band. You put it on your wrist. Whenever you feel like hurting yourself, you just snap the rubber band until the feeling goes away. It'll help, I hope." Josh said. He took my wrist and gently put the rubber band around it.
"Thanks, Josh. You...you're a great friend." I smiled. We walked and finally reached our neighborhood.
"I'll see you later, Tyler." Josh said. Then he turned the corner to his house.
"Bye!" I yelled back to him.
I went into my house. The first thing I would do?
Take away all the things that could hurt me.
