"So tell me again, why're we at the mall at the crack of dawn?" I asked, rubbing my eyes lightly.
"First, it's 10 o'clock, grow up. Second, you accepted a job, remember?" Ryuuji replied, tugging me forward until I started moving on my own.
This assignment was an undercover one, which is always fun. Well, I hope it is... So far, I'm standing in the middle of the mall with Ryuuji's company card. I could buy all the food I ever dreamed of - No! No distractions. I have to find a wardrobe appropriate for my cover. Hongbin phoned this morning to tell me that I would be in the company as a relative of Bang PD who was entrusted to Hongbin and interning to improve her social skills and learn to cope with her social anxiety before starting university next year. I'm still living at my apartment, though Ryuuji mentioned that it was part of the cover - I'm supposed to be staying at my only friend's apartment until I get a dorm from the university. Hits a bit close to the truth now that I think about it. Oh well.
"Now, what would a cute, artistic girl wear?" I said to myself before walking into the nearest clothing store.
A few hours later, I was exhausted and laden with several bags, struggling to call Ryuuji without dropping my phone or my bags. When he finally texted me to announce his arrival, I could've cried tears of joy. I usually hate shopping. The second I sat in the passenger seat of his car and got comfortable, I was out like a light.
I woke up to the sound of rustling plastic and sat up, rubbing my eyes. When did I get on the couch? A particularly loud sound had my attention snapping to the center of the room.
"Ryuu! Why're you going through my stuff, that's private!" I exclaimed, stuffing my clothing haul back into random bags.
"What? It's not like I wouldn't have made you show me anyway. And why'd you buy underwear?" He asked, smirking.
"Ugh, you're so gross. And because I wanted some, what's your problem? I hate you sometimes," I grumbled.
This is why I didn't want to take this gig. It's gonna be like seven Ryuu's. I shuddered at the thought, best to give them the benefit of the doubt though. I finally tuned in to the incessant poking in my side and glared at my more than irritating flatmate,
"What is it now, Ryuu?" I asked, huffing slightly.
"Well, you must've bought them with some idea in mind, so try them on! Fashion show, fashion show, fashion show," He chanted, skipping around the living room setting up some music.
I sighed, knowing he wouldn't shut up unless I tried it all on. Scooping all of my bags haphazardly into my arms, I dragged my feet as I walked into my room. Test run of my cover is a go; let's see if it works with Ryuu. I pulled out the first outfit - a pair of thigh high socks, a long oversized sweater in a cute muted pink color, and a beanie. I also pulled out a plain, comfortable camisole and black shorts to slip on underneath before putting it on. Before I set the beanie, I brushed through my hair, curling the ends loosely and then sliding on the knit hat. With the addition of a bracelet, some rings, and simple diamond studs for my ears, I was all set.
"N-ne, Ryuu? Is this okay?" I said in what I hoped was a cute tone as I tilted my head.
"Hmm..." He scanned me from head to toe, shucks, he was in 'Ryuuji mode'.
"Go do your makeup again, switch out the darker lipsticks for glosses and stick to light, bright shades," He said, dismissing me to make the changes."Also, don't you think you should call me more cutely?" He called behind me, his tone switching to a more playful one.
"Like what?" I asked, wiping off my existing makeup and starting again.
"Like Ryuu-oppa~" He singsonged.
I scrunched up my face, "I'd rather die,"
He laughed before telling me to hurry up, and also to come out with a different outfit. I have to admit, I only allow myself to be like this when I'm undercover, but I don't really mind it if it's occasionally. I went ahead and finished my makeup with a final flourish of my lipgloss wand applicator before looking at the clothes spread out on my bed. I pulled off my current outfit, opting for a cotton maxi dress that faded from light blue to dark blue. I put a white denim jacket over it and parted my hair to the side, clipping my bangs back with a white flower hair pin. After slipping on a pair of flats and switching out some of my jewelry, I walked out of the room.
"Hello, Ryuuji! Good work today," I said, smiling brightly and bowing slightly.
"You're scary good at this, stop. You're creeping me out. And the outfits look good so far, so I'm sure the rest are fine so go change out," He said, grimacing.
"Gladly," I replied in my usual, nonplussed tone.
"That's creepy too!" He called out behind me.
I rolled my eyes, what'd I do to get stuck with this man-child. I caught my reflection in the mirror as I crossed my room and smiled, I actually couldn't wait to be undercover. I only had one more day to go. After rearranging my closet so my usual stuff was towards the back and my formal dresses and new clothes towards the front, I returned to the living room.
"See, this is the Minah that we know. Black everything. Perfect," Ryuu said, as I sat next to him on the couch.
I shoved him slightly, smothering a smile, "Just put on a movie already,"
"Ryuu~ I want food too~" I sang playfully when he got up.
"You're a brat," He replied, going into the kitchen anyway.
"But you love me!" I said.
"It's questionable," he replied, coming back with a bowl of rice and chicken.
"Rude," I scoffed, getting comfortable.
We spent the rest of the night finishing the movie and going over the details of the job once more, with him handing over files on the boys known as BTS for me to get to know them. After that, Ryuuji bid me goodnight, telling me not to stay up too late to study the files. Though really, he was just telling me he wants me to slave over these profiles until I have them memorized. As you wish, boss. I turned off the overhead lights to make it easier for Ryuu to sleep, leaving the lamp in the dining room on. After laying the files out on the table in front of me, I sat crosslegged on the cushioned dining chair.

This is gonna be a lot of work.
