The sun gleamed through the curtain, waking Eva. She opened her eyes blinking at the glare. Looking over at her clock she gasped. It was 8:08! She had 12 minutes to get ready for school. She wondered why her parents hadn't woken her before remembering that her mum had gone to an overnight convention and her dad left for work at 5:00. She jumped out of her bed and hurriedly got dressed in her uniform and brushed her hair. By the time her hair was knot free it was 8:13. 'Alright' she thought.' 7 minutes for me to get my bag ready.' She packed her books and lunch hurriedly, grabbing some money on the way out the door.

The walk to school was quiet and she was slightly puffed when she got there and walked over to her friends. 3 Happy Birthdays were heard from them as she sat down. "Thanks, guys!" She replied. Despite the rushed morning, she had a feeling today was going to be a good day.
The day was a blur. She had been sung happy birthday in 2 different classes and she had had good subjects. She couldn't wait to get home and get her presents.

When she got home she frowned, the house looked dark, like no one was inside. 'Maybe my mum isn't back yet, and my dad isn't home from work' she thought. She reached the door and got out her keys. Unlocking the door and walking inside she jumped when "SURPRISE" was screamed out. "Eek! Oh wow! Thanks!" She said, still a little startled. She didn't usually have parties. Just opened a few presents and had cake, nothing big. She smiled looking around. Not only were her mum and dad there, but her three best friends, Kaz, Lilly, and Cassie were there too. They went into the lounge room and they sang Happy Birthday to her. "Now," her mum said, "You get to open your presents." And so she did. One was clothes, one was new headphones, and the third one was the third season of Supernatural. "So what's with the big gathering?" Eva asked, confused. "Well, we have a little surprise for you, Eva." Her mum replied. As they led her to the garage she lent in towards Kaz and whispered: "do you know what it is?"
"Yep," Kaz replied, popping the p.
"Well?"
"Well what?"
"What is it?"
"I can't tell you! You'll just have to wait and see!" They walked in and Eva gasped. In the middle of the garage was a table. On it was a 3D map of the whole town. "How did you? WH- WHAT??" Eva stuttered. "Well, we wanted to give you something special for your 15th birthday!" Her mother exclaimed
"It's amazing! But, why a 3D model of the town?"
"Well, it's something special, unique!" Her dad said.
"Thanks, guys!" She hugged her mum, her dad, and then her friends. She was right. It was a great day.

The next day was Saturday, so she got to stay home. In the morning after breakfast, she went down to the garage to look at the model more. It was a great (if a bit strange) gift, and she loved it. She moved the cars around for a bit and moved the people around before her mother rushed out. "Mum, what's wrong?" She asked.
"Come inside and watch the news!" Her mum exclaimed speed walking back inside. "What? Mum what's going on?!"
"Just come on!" They got inside and walked into the lounge room to watch the TV. A reporter was interviewing someone, who said they had watched their car get picked up and moved about a block away by a giant hand. Several other people were interviewed, some saying even they had been picked up before a huge THUMP was heard from outside. Eva's eyes widened. Outside was a huge paw of what looked to be a possum. She screamed and watched it step closer to the house. Suddenly had an idea. She ran out into the garage, avoiding the paw, and ran over to the 3D model. There was a possum on it, walking around about where their house was. She ran over and tried to grab it, desperately trying to avoid its claws. She let out a small squeak when it bit her and sucked on her hand. The possum ran out and went up a tree. Her mum ran in and asked what was going on. "Mum what I do to the model effects real life! Where do you get it from?"
"I got it at the convention I went to, and got it transported here on a truck, I honestly didn't know this would happen!"
"We need to stop it! I don't want anyone else getting hurt!"

"I'm sorry Eva I don't know what to do!"

"What if we burn it?" Eva asked, half thinking to herself out loud.

"What? Why would you burn it?" her mum asked, confused.

"Well in Supernatural if weird things happen sometimes it's a spirit and they either burn the body or an object they are attached to."

"I'm not going to burn your birthday present! Especially if all this is from a TV show. And what makes you think it's possessed or whatever anyway!?"

"I'll just have to do it myself then!" Eva replied angrily, running back into the house. "Eva come back!" her mum yelled after her. When Eva got to the house she hurried inside and grabbed a salt shaker and a lighter and ran back outside. "Eva stop! Think about what's happening here! Whatever happens in the model actually happens, what if you burn the town!" that made Eva stop in her tracks. She couldn't burn the town down, she would never forgive herself! But she was right next to the town... she unscrewed the top of the salt shaker and scattered the salt around. She grabbed a can of oil from nearby and poured it over the model. "Eva stop!" she kept going, pouring all of the oil on the model, completely blocking her mother out. She lit the lighter and set the town on fire, stepping back from the flames quickly. Her mother gasped and looked around. Then she started laughing. Eva turned around and stared at her mother. Then she looked around too. She smiled. The only fire was the burning model.

She and her mother sat on the ground watching the model burn until the fire was out. They cleaned up the melted model and headed back inside, turning on the news. Reports were back to normal and everyone had their cars back. No damage had been done by the raccoon and nothing had burnt. "So... Eva."

"Yeah, mum?"

"You could've killed us."

"But I didn't. Sometimes you just have to have a little faith."
