"I want to be remembered...I don't want to be alone; I want to help others," whispered a young boy. His ocean-colored hues were fixated on the sparkling stars above.

His mind wandered off to his friend whom he called Hunk.
"Lance, where are you?" Called a voice from below. Lance refrained from snickering as Hunk tried to find the missing boy.

"Lance so help me, if you don't come down here in the next minute I...I won't make you anymore food for a week!" Hunk threatened worriedly.

Lance's smirk was wiped from his face and he squinted at his friend defiantly.

"Besa mi culo!" Lance shouted from the roof. (Translación para gringos: Kiss my ass)

Hunk swung around, glaring at the Cuban. "Th-that wasn't very nice, Lance!"

Lance had a dopey grin on his face and he shrugged in response. "You know I was kidding, so what's the big deal?"

The young boy, daringly jumped from the roof, expertly latching onto the branch of a tree and swinging off from there.

"Did you see the shooting star?" Hunk asked, placing his hand onto Lance's shoulder.
"Yeah, did you wish for anything?" The Cuban asked the dark skinned boy.

"Yup! I wished to become a--"
"Don't tell me! If you say it, it won't come true!" Lance interrupted.

Lance glanced at the stars again. They gleamed in the dark sky, like the shimmering colors of a fish's scales.

-a few years later-

"Keith, if you had one day to live, what would you do?" Lance whispered, his breathing shaky and his somber eyes glossy.

Keith thought for a moment, his steel-colored eyes inspecting the surroundings, as if they would give some sort of answer. "I'd probably start saying my goodbyes to the people who knew me," Keith finally answer, his voice wavering in sadness. "Why?"

Lance's face was unusually pale, and his usually bright eyes were becoming dull. "No reason, I was just curious," he replied.

"Keith...Let's go to Neverland and never come back until forever ends..." Lance whimpered, tears welling within his eyes.

Keith's eyes widened at Lance's outburst. He reached out to embrace the other male who's face was an unnatural pale color. He hugged the other boy who screamed and sobbed for many minutes before finally calming down.

"I never wanted to grow up...I knew this was going to happen when I did...I wanted to stay young forever..." Lance whispered, a transparent liquid sliding down his cheeks.

"What are you talking about, Lance?" Keith asked anxiously.
"It was only a matter of time before it happened, before I would reach my end..." Lance vaguely replied.

"Lance..."

"Keith...mi corazón te amo..."
(Translación para gringos: Keith, my heart loves you...)

The cuban's breathing was shallow. It was only mere seconds before Lance became limp in Keith's arms.

"Lance?!" Keith screamed, fear coursing through his veins.

The boy with the mullet shook the limp male, anxiety suffocating him as another second ticked by. "This can't be happening," he mumbled under his breath.

"Lance, please wake up...please..."
Tears glistened down his cheeks and dripped onto the Cuban's skin. Keith placed his lips upon the other male's mouth, as if the act of love could somehow bring him back. But it did not. Lance was still limp in his arms...Lance was...dead...

Keith tried not to cry, but it was futile as he held his beloved within his arms. He screamed angrily. At that moment, the sky began to cry. Transparent droplets violently pelted Keith's skin. It left his pallid flesh stinging, but he didn't care. His friend--his lover--just died.

He didn't even know how long Lance was suffering with this mysterious illness. "Why?" Keith croaked out, his eyes red from crying.

"Why'd you now tell me...? Why are you making me suffer alone? Why did you have to die!?!" He screamed, banging his fist onto the ground.

Images of the times he spent with the blue paladin flashed in his mind. Memories of the times he treasured with Lance made his heart ache in pain. The boy's goofy smile burned into the side of his brain. The way his eyes normally sparkled left Keith squinting his eyes shut as he screamed out again. His chest felt heavy with grief and he wanted this to be some sort of nightmare. He wanted Lance back. The boy who he enjoyed talking to. The boy who he would playfully wrestle with. The male who he had fallen in love with. The one who he proposed to this god awful night.

Keith stared down at the golden ring. He eyed Lance's hand. He was missing the ring...

Keith crawled over and inspecting Lance. His left hand was clenched? Keith pried open Lance's cold hand and saw the shining, golden ring in his palm.

Keith bit his own hand, trying to desperately muffle the whimper of loss as he stared at the other boy. "God fucking dammit Lance, why?!" He yelled.

Black strings of hair fell into his face, yet he didn't care. He couldn't avert his eyes from the dead body of his lover.

"We were supposed to get married, you idiot..." Keith whimpered out, trying to gulp the thick lump that formed in his throat.

"Why'd you have to fucking die on me....why now? Why didn't you tell anyone?"

Keith's head felt heavy and he gently placed a kiss on Lance's forehead.

"Stupid idiot..." He mumbled before falling asleep, his head on the dead boy's chest.
