I grunted. I still had this stupid gag in my mouth.

“Lieutenant, please open the door and bring me a chair”

My heart did a wild “thump-thump” as I realized what the knives were for. He was going to torture me. But, what for? What did I have that he wanted? The slaves. They hadn't found them yet!

The Lieutenant walked in with the chair and the slavedriver sat down. He picked up a very petite looking knife. He picked up another knife and started sharpening the little one. Or was the little one sharpening the big one?

“Now, 03826, please tell me the location of the missing slaves.”

I grunted.

“Oh, my apologies I forgot to untie your gag.”

He leaned over my head, making his wretched smell even more unbearable.

I was no genius on the subject of bathing, but even I smelled better than that.

He finally finishes taking off my gag and sits back down again. “Now, 03826, I believe I asked you a question-where are the missing slaves.”

I spit in his face and he turns red.

He takes the petite looking knife and makes a cut running from my eyebrow to my top lip. Only then does he turn back to his normal color.

“I don't know who you’re talking about. There are no missing slaves. The only ones I know of are sitting right here in this building. Me, Fox, and Kat.”

This time he turns a lovely shade of purple.  He makes another cut. This time a circle running around my right eye. Blood now refrains me from seeing, so I close my eyes in effort to keep the blood out.

No matter what I was going to keep their location a secret. They deserved a life away from slavery.

“I going to repeat my question-where are they?”

“I don't know!”

He then punches my left eye.

“WHERE!”

“Sir, what do not get about I DON'T KNOW!”

He punches me again and knocks me out.

I wake up from a dazed stupor. I'm in somebody's arms. The persons running. I can feel it. Up and down, up and down. I look up into the very blurry person's face. It was Fox. What was he doing holding me? The last time I saw him was... was... was when we were in the cages. I looked back and saw an also very blurry Katharina running after Fox. Not trying to get him, but instead trying to catch up with him. I squint back at the building we came from and see it explode. The fire comes chasing after us, but Fox and Kat dive and I'm knocked out again.
