I start walking.
I don't know where I'm walking, but I walk faster, eventually evolving into a run.
When my chest starts to burn, I stop to see where my legs have taken me.
The hill. The hill where I last saw Alex. I sit I between the two poppies, just like last time, and and sing. I do this to keep my sanity. I'd be crazy by now, if I didn't sing.
"Your voice is like heaven, you know that right?" Says a voice. I turn around to see who it belongs to. "Alex." I whisper. I run into his arms."I've missed you." Alex whispers into my ear. I smile, and smash my lips into his.
I see a blinding light.
It consumes my body, and I can't escape it.
Suddenly it stops.
I sigh, thankful for the peace.
"Gen?" Alex says.
"Yeah?"
"I think you got renamed."
I look behind me and gasp. I have wings. Huge black wings.
I fold him in my arms.Christina's POV
I see a light. A light that bright could only mean someone got renamed.
Who is it this time?
A voice comes.
"All hail princess Genevieve, The Betrayer!"
Oh no. Gen just got renamed. How did she betray us. Unless. . . . . . . .
She betrayed our power house.
I make a portal to Gen. Carefully I make an invisibility spell so that she doesn't see me.
Unless she feels my presence.
I cross the portal, not knowing what would happen.
Then I see Alex.
He is holding her in her arms.
She must of kissed him. I'm pretty sure that Alex is in Fire house.
So she betrayed us.
Darkness and Fire.
I look at Gen's shiny black wings. They look so soft.
I can hear her gasp.
"Christina. You can make yourself visible again. I know you're here."
I undo the spell, and look at them. She lets go of Alex.
"Who's side are you on, Gen?" I ask.
She scowls at me. "No ones side. You shouldn't be on anyone's side either. We shouldn't even have to pick a house!"
"Why not?" I ask.
"You have Void for goodness sake! You have all the powers! Why bother choosing if you have other powers as well?" She tests.
I look at her dress. If I remember correctly, it was blue. It is now a black. A menacing lace black. It's strapless and goes to her knees. Similar to mine, but different all the same. Her wings make it more piercing. More dangerous.
Beautiful.
But she is corrupted. The wings make her corrupted.
Just like they did to mum.
Chaos and wings don't go well together.
I can tell.
"Gen! You're corrupted by the wings! They are very powerful! They make you powerful!" I yell. It's true.
She smirks. I don't think that I've ever seen Gen smirk in my whole life.
"I know. And I love it."she says.
I knew it. She's corrupted by her power.
I dive for her. My finger nails digging in to whatever skin that I can find.
She screams, but has enough sense to create a barrier.
"Christina." She whispers. "Even without wings you're corrupt." She starts crying, with Alex by her side. He sends me a glare, and I turn away.Genevieve's POV
I look at Christina. I've just lost her, because I betrayed her. Because I called her corrupted. Because I have wings. I sit on my knees and cry, my hands covering my face. I feel Alex stoking my hair, and whispering things that mean nothing to me.
A Dark fairy, just kissed a Fire fairy.
Me
And
Alex
Are
Dead.
So I run.
My run becomes so fast, that I fly, my wings gliding through the air like a bird.
I go higher.
And higher.
Until I can't see the hill anymore. When I land I find myself in air house.
I want to see mum.
I'm so small. I thought I would have to push through the crowd, muttering "excuse me." And "coming through!" But I don't. I guess having wings makes me more noticeable. Everyone stares at me as I pass through the small town. I eventually find the house that used to be mine. I knock.
A lady with Auburn hair and a white T-shirt answers the door.
My mother.
"So it's true." She murmurs. "You betrayed a power house, and got Chaos as a result."
I glare at her.
"I came here to see you, not argue over my life." I say.
I think she's going to say something to assure me that she's not going to argue with me, but instead she says, "Leave. Go back to Shadow house."
My eyes widen. "I thought coming here would make things better between us. Not worse." I lift my wings, and the wind carries me. I close my eyes and enjoy the feeling, forgetting that my mother just yelled at me. Well, she wasn't my real mother. I sink into the endless feeling of joy. Of hurt. Of love, and smile.
My eyes become droopy, and I rest, falling asleep on a pile of leaves, making a bed out of my powers.
And for once
Sleep
