Broken Arrows

She wipes off tears and applies her makeup.

Washing away the screams of her husband telling her to shut up.

Every night she prays to be released of this relationship.

But, all the man does is hit.

A baby girl is stuck in an attic all her life.

Her grandfather killed her mother, who was never a wife.

She gets fed one time a day.

Wondering why she has to grow up this way.

A husband holds his wife, and their child unborn.

Tomorrow she'll give birth, to a child mourned.

Burying their child deep in the cool wet soil.

A mother to never get to see that baby spoiled.

A boy leaves his girlfriend who has a cheating heart.

But, through all the pain, he never once fell apart.

Numb, unknown to the world around.

But, through all the sorrow, not a tear was found.

A young girl curls herself into a ball.

She will never tell, she will keep it all.

Her drunken stepfather heads to his room.

But, she knows tomorrow is a day too soon.

A teenage girl runs away from a fight.

Scared and completely terrified.

Bruises are hidden beneath her long sleeves.

But, its because of a person unseen.

Broken arrows, with no where to go.

Broken arrows, not welcome at home.

Broken arrows with secrets to tell.

Broken arrows know pain to well.
