netFLIX STOLE MY IDEAS ????

SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING 13RW AND HAVEN'T YET AND DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU GOT SPOILED YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

HEY

It's been a while I'm aware, and I know that this is sort of out of the blue and not worthy of being shared to all of you lovely people who have read TNW, but I cannot geT THIS OUT OF MY MIND.

So I know that the title to this is annoying and is technically click bait, my apologies to all, but please hear me out and tell me I'm not crazy and that I'm just some drama queen who makes everything about herself please!!!!

So here is why I decided to upload this after almost two years of ending this book:

I just finished watching​ 13 Reasons Why last night, and while I was crying and screaming the whole time I couldn't help but notice that some things are eerily similar to what I wrote in That's not Why two FUCKING years ago.

"But Vanessa, the book 13 Reasons Why came out way before TNW!"

I'm aware and I'm gonna be honest and say that I've never read the book, even though I did say in the beginning of this story that it is similar to 13RW and many of you seemed to agree. But I've never read that book and I only knew that it was slightly similar to 13RW because it's an extremely popular book and I just happened to know what it was about.

And I'm aware that the series is very different from the book, which creeps me out a bit more because my story is kinda more similar to the series than it is to the book. Which doesn't make sense because I could've never known about what the series would be about two FUCKING YEARS AGO when I wrote this.

Now I know I sound dramatic​ and I know some of you have rolled your eyes and called me stupid by now. I obviously don't think that Netflix stole my idea lol, like I said, CLICKBAIT. But I do think that there are some coincidences that blow my mind.

Okay, so now I'm gonna list why I think that my book is creepily simar to 13RW

Again, I haven't read the book, haven't even touched it, I barely knew the premise. I have only watched the series.

Here it is:

Cute innocent waffle that happens to stumble upon messages that a dead person left for them: Liam | Clay

Person that ends their life for various reasons: Zayn | Hannah

Asshole jocks: Jordan and his crew| Justin, Zach, Monty, FUXKING PIEXE OG SHKT BRYCE, etc

Shitty friends that fuck over their friend: Harry, Tom | Jessica, Alex

Useless guidance counselor: Mr. Martin | Mr. Porter

Questionable photographer/nerd: Harry | Tyler

Gross icky vicky creep: Jordan | FUCKKNF BRYCEE

CUTE SWEET JOCK EVERYONE LOVED: FUKXING LOUIS | JEFFFFF

Now I know that I sound stupid, cause I know I fucking am because like, these are like coincidences, right?

CUZ I DID RESEARCH

In the original book Clay hears all the tapes in one night without any interruptions. Like I said, I've never read the book. But in the series, this cute waffle couldn't hear them all at once because he would get panic attacks.

Remember another certain cute waffle that would get panic attacks reading THE MESSAGDS THEY WERE GIVEN???

ALSO LIAM HALLUCINATES ABOUT ZAYN LIKE HOW CLAY HAD HALLUCINATIONS ABOUT HANNAH

Alsooo, I believe that in the book Hannah and Clay weren't really friends like how they were in the series, just like Zayn and Liam.

AND LETS MENTION THE BIGGEST SIMILARITY OF ALL

LOUIS AND JEFF

Louis (a beloved football player that was nice to everyone) died because of Zayn stealing Niall's care after a traumatic event after party.

Jeff (lovable jock who's a sweetheart to everyone) dies in a car crash after Sheri offers to drive Hannah home after a TRAUMATIZING EVENT (Sheri breaks the stupid stop sign and runs, ultimately leading to Jeff's death)

That's like weirdly similar but okay.

Now I'd like to say that this isn't exactly like 13RW, because it's not, 13RW is better and cooler and they obviously DID NOt Steal anything from me lol. I'm obviously kidding, I just find these coincidences to be kind interesting.

Of course I don't thing that Selena fucking Gomez crept onto Wattpad a few years ago and said "oh some of this could make a couple million bucks on Netflix" because that's obviously not the case. Like I said, we're just having fun here

I might delete this soon IDK probably when I come to my senses and realize I'm overreacting but for now I'll just leave this here with you guys.
