Draco's castle was located a little ways from the woods. It was hidden away in the deep woods but easy enough to find if someone needed it. His father did that on purpose that way no one would bother them or try to assonate the royal family. Draco was the only son of Lucius and Narissa Malfoy. Narissa died when Draco was seven years old. He loved his mother, she taught him that everyone was the same, including witches and muggles. After she died his father sent him off to school to get the best education possible. When he came back his father then educated him in the ways of being king. It was Lucius that molded Draco into the muggle hating person he was today.

For the past week the castle was busy with ball preparations. They all had to make sure there was enough food and drink as well as lights. Draco spent that week locked away in his room watching  his mirror. He just kept looking at his reflection while he sat in the chair. The staff was told by Theodore about the girl he cared for. They were all happy for him but knew he would not act upon it. They knew he was upset but wouldn't dare go near him. Theodore was the one who had more contact with him. Draco just sat in a chair would eat or drink, tempting himself to ask the mirror to show him her.

Draco wasn't going to give in, at least that is what he told himself. After that one night that he stayed by her side, a week ago, he hasn't see her since. He hasn't even looked through the mirror at her. He told himself it was for the best, but he didn't know, and sitting there wasn't helping. He was only doing this because it was practice. Soon he would be married and then he wouldn't be allowed to look at her.

The night of the ball arrived and Draco finally decided it would be time to get ready. The guests would be arriving any minute. He got all dressed up in his best. The dress outfit itself was long, it was gold mixed with silver and a lighter gold. Of course accompanied by a wig.

Once he checked himself in the mirror he walked out and joined the already starting party

Once he checked himself in the mirror he walked out and joined the already starting party.

It was hours later and the party was in full swing. There were girls all over the room but all Draco could think about was Grania. But he did what he always did when he thought about her that night, so far, he got up and danced with other girls that attended. He found no interest in any of them. Yes, to him, they were very pretty, but that didn't do anything for him. He danced and drank with the party and enjoyed the evening. He wondered what she was doing. But quickly pushed it off.

Soon a massive crackle and a flash of lightning made terrible sounds outside that startled everyone, but the party continued. But soon enough the candles were blown out by the horrible wind that entered the castle as the back doors opened. In walked a hunched women wearing a black hooded cape. As she entered Draco approached her, while the guests hurried to the back of the ballroom closest to the door.

As she got closer she fell to her knees and Draco got closer. She lifted up her hood to reveal that she indeed old. Draco gave her a disgusted look.

"Sir, if you please, I wish to seek shelter from the storm." She bowed her head.

Draco looked around and starting laughing. Soon everyone joined him. He then refused.

"I can offer you this rose in exchange for shelter."

He took the rose from her and immediately thought of Grania stopping to smell the roses when he first met her. He threw the rose back at her. He once again refused her.

"Do not be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within." She warned him.

He laughed again and this time the room fell into a deeper laughter. Soon the old women's body melted away leaving everyone in shock. The rose laid on the floor but no one was there. Just when he thought the show was over a bright light flashed before him. The old women transformed into a beautiful enchantress. The light was so bright and shining everywhere that it scared all the guest, except for his faithful servants and Ginny, away.

Draco fell to his knees begging for forgiveness, but he knew it was too late. The enchantress saw that there was no love in his heart and was determined to change that.

"Draco Malfoy, I have watched you over the years and found you to be as heartless as you are cruel. It appears that there is no love in you're heart. And as punishment you and the people in your house will be transformed. No one in this world will remember you or anyone until the curse is lifted. This curse shall last until someone can learn to love you for the way you are, a beast."

The Beast ran away from the ballroom and up to his bedroom. While there he fell on the floor. His clothes were torn from his body as he started to transform. He soon grew fur all over his body. His head sprung horns and his teeth turned into sharp fangs. He grew even more taller. As he sat on the floor the enchantress approached him.

"You have until the last pedal on this rose falls. And of you have not learned to love another and earn her love in return you will remain a beast for the rest of your days. But if by some chance she loves you back, you all will be transformed back to the way you were."
