Bus Ride

Chapter 3

Even Cacey looks up as she floats up into the air. But then as soon as it started, it stopped. Her arms out straight in the air as she fell from the height. As she drops to the water, water splashes onto my face and my body that wasn't already drenched. The disgusting, stingy lake water fills my mouth with a disgusting taste. I quickly spit out the lake water and whatever other particles were in the lake. I look down at the lake water and see a huge yellow object floating down slowly, but heavily. The bus! I dive under holding my mouth with one hand. Think of happy things. I remember the time I dropped my phone in the pool and I dove in for it.

I had kicked off my shoes, I had been so frantic to find my phone, I hadn't even cared about anything else. Luckily the phone was undamaged and Kai helped me clean out the water in my phone. And later we jumped in with bathing suits.

I almost laughed when I remembered Kai shaking the water on my already drenched self. He was already blushing immensely. I shake my head and dive deeper toward the bus.

I reach the bus and try to shake open the jammed doors. I see floating kids at the top of the bus and backpacks everywhere. I look around for a brown-haired beauty. Nothing. Nada. I swim into the bus, knowing very well that I was going to run out of air soon. Never less I swim toward the back of the bus and grab my heavy backpack, still looking around for Kai. My vision soon becomes blurry and I swim toward the door. I kick it open with the little strength I had left because it had jammed shut again.

I quickly swim faster and faster toward the top, hoping that I make it before I run out of air. I make it to top, gasping and grasping as if to grab the air and swallow it up. I paddle toward land hoping that I get there.

I'm a few feet away from land when I fell something bumpy touches my toes. I want to scream and kick off it and punch and swim toward the shore, but I know that will just get me killed. So I stay calm, slowly doggy paddling toward shore as the bumpy animal circles me. I reach the shore and look back, I can see the animal now that it's by the shore. It looks bumpy and green with big humps on its back. I scream as I see three more progressing toward me in red water.
Looking down at Callie, I consider leaving her. But I guesssss I'll pick her dead weight up. I sigh thinking of Kai and how could have quickly flung her over his shoulder. He ALWAYS worked out.

I quickly grab Kacy and pull her in the other direction, forgetting about Kai(which never happens) for the time being. I groan and push her dead weight over my shoulder. I run as fast as I can hoping that I can get away from the alligators!

I listen to the sound of pit-pat on the ground and heavy breathing. ANDDDD Callie's complaining.

"Don't s-save m-me." Kaitlyn says, shivering.

"Well- Kallie, I am going to save you whether you like it or not."

"M-my n-names n-not C-Callie, its K-KATY!" She coughs out of her throat.
"Okay. Thanks Katy for that information because I need it for the alligators!" I scream at her as loud as I can because I'm carrying her dead weight and talking at the same time.

"Look over th-there a H-HOSPITAL!" Katy screeches back at me.
I quickly turn and head toward the hospital.

(Think of all this with At The End Of The Day music!)

"Wh-why is it ripped and t-torn?" I say panting.

"J-Just go!" She screams at me.

"Their getting closer!" I scream, horrified that they were reaching us.

"Drop me! Please!" Katy sobs into my jacket.

"I don't belong here! she says to me.

How did I not notice before? The cuts on her wrist were noticeable now that her jacket had torn and was muddy. I look back and see that that alligator meant business.

While looking back, I didn't see there was a rock in front of me. I scream as I tumble over loosing my balance and... Katy! I hear a crack and felt a crack in my knee as I scream bloody murder.
