"It's probably just a critter," I say groggily.
"No! I see someone in the bushes! Or more like something?" She says the last part slowly, tilting her head.
"Fine let's just get inside. I get up off the metal door and go inside with Katy.
I look over where I saw the bloody handprint and Kai's name in blood.. but there was nothing. I just shake my head and continue on limping. I take one last look and see a black flash through the bushes. I hint of fear radiates through me, but I shrug it off. We continue but this time we come upon a set of stairs. I start up the stairs, with Katy behind me.
I hear a loud bang and we both look back to see the door putting itself back on its hinges. We both stop and look at each other shrugging. I've seen a lot of weird shit in my life. This one barely makes the top ten.
"Come on out!" I yell expecting at least a few laughs from some corners. I shrug and come across a hospital room. It looks like it had been in a fire. The paint on the walls have peeled off so has the paint over the wood on the floor. Every step I take toward the next set of stairs, the floorboards creaks and I feel as if it's about to break through. I sigh and I shouldn't have because the next thing will scar me. I the floorboards break and I go falling into vast black space. Katy grabs my wrists and my jacket slides down making it even harder to hold me. I look down and see a bloody face and bloody arms reaching for my legs. I grab her other hand and she helps me up. Wow, never knew her heaviness could help us. I actually am liking her a tiny bet better, I thought looking over my shoulder at her. We continue around the flimsy floorboards and make it to the stairs. Uh-oh. Several steps are missing and most of the steps look like they are older than time itself. We swerved around them but Katy lost her balance one time, but she regained her balance by holding onto me. We stop at the top, scared to look at what comes next. When I finally peek out from my hands I see something that I will never unsee. A blood filled room but with rotting corpses. Most of them still intact. That's impossible, this hospital looks like it's at least 300 years old!
"Okayyy guys, these look pretty real. I know Sandra's a makeup artist.." I yell, rolling my eyes. This time I DO hear a laugh. Expect this time, it's a child's laugh. I shiver for a moment while the laughter continues, gradually making its way toward us. They brought a child? My stupid friends. I make my way hurriedly around the corpses, occasionally seeing a severed head or a foot.
"Do you believe it's really them?" She whispers, utterly terrified.
I roll my eyes and flip my golden blonde hair. "Of course it is! Monsters don't exist." I say unconvincingly. She shivers and tears pour down her face.
"We're going to die. We're going to die." She sobs as she sits on the bloody floor. I awkwardly walk toward her and squish myself next to her. I pat her back awkwardly again as she sobs into her hands. I hear a child's laugh from behind us and grab her hand, leading her through the dark, broken down hospital. It's getting closer and turning into a man's laugh. Kai's laugh. Then I hear a blood curling scream that will never leave me. Kai's scream. I turn around as fast as I can only to see Katy. I grit my teeth, wishing they would stop this stupid prank already. I find the darkest room and there's a closet in there. I sit down and Katy sits down next to me, tears rolling down her face. She reminds me of Kai, her short brown hair is the color of Kai's. She's the closest thing I have to a person right now. A tear falls down my face, not from being scared but from missing Kai. I am utterly broken.
My lipstick still on, my eyebrows still done, my blush still applied, my mascara still in piece. But my heart. That was another thing. It has broken. And no superglue can fix a broken heart. You can try tape, gorilla glue, anything. The only thing that can fix a broken heart is another intact heart.
Sad episode? The next one is more exciting! <3 guys.. 38 reads!
