I've know since I was young that I was different from the rest of my family. Everyone treated me differently and ridiculed me. Well everyone except Dante.

A sharp sting of pain erupts on my right cheek as a harsh slap hits my face. I grit my teeth but make no move. I know better than to try anything. Out of the corner of my eye I see Dante. He looks pained as he watches our uncle repeatedly slap me. Another slap this time a bit gentler hits the left side of my face. I look up at my uncles but once again make no move to stop them.

When I was born it became clear that I was different from the rest of my cousins. I could see, hear, and smell things that my companions couldn't. I was faster and stronger. My father always told me not to use my heightened abilities in front of anyone other than himself and Dante. I made a mistake. I unknowingly allowed myself to use my abilities while playing with my cousins. I was seven at the time and didn't know any better. We were playing football and I used my speed to help beat the other team.

I thought they wouldn't notice but I was wrong. While I did help my team win, when I smiled my canines were long and pointed. This scared them and they ran off to tell their families. That night my uncles, Hades and Zeus, came to visit. Dante looked worried cowering slightly behind his father's figure. He had gripped the edge of his father's cloak in an attempt to change his mind. Hades himself didn't seem to keen on coming to see my father and I.

His dark brown eyes held sympathy and worry while his face seemed to age a bit, worry lines appearing on his forehead. My blonde uncle next to him on the other hand looked livid. His blue eyes seemed to turn into silver as he glared down at me. A flame a hatred appearing in his eyes. Not understanding I went to ask him what was wrong but instead I hit with something sharp hitting my left shoulder. I cried out and gripped my shoulder. My father emmidietly hid me behind his back. He began shouting at my uncle and I remember Dante's eyes.

Dark brown like his father's and filled with tears. That day everything changed. I became an outcast, the black sheep of the family and I had no idea why. Until now.

I had just turned eighteen and had gone out with Dante. We had gotten a large pepperoni and sausage pizza and drove out to the edge where you could see the human world. He had parked his car and we sat on the hood of his car eating pizza when it began. It first felt like a slight cramp then a bad stomach ache till it knocked me off the hood of Dante's car and I was withering on the ground in pain.

Dante had been holding me when it happened. My body shifted and my vision faded. The following morning I had woken up in the cellar under my uncles temple. I had attacked Dante. When I heard this I began to cry before I was silenced with a dagger to the side. I screamed. Everyday my uncle Zeus came to my cellar and would beat me. This continued for a year. Now I'm nineteen and the beatings have yet to stop.

"I want her out of here!"

I look up at the sound of my aunts enraged growl her hazel eyes burning holes into my face. I look back down at the stone floor which I'm chained to and listen to my family's bickering.

"How could Posideon be the father of that thing?"

"She's disgusting!"

"We should have put her down years ago!"

I clench my teeth and slam my fists to the floor. The pillars holding up the room shake which silences everyone. I open my mouth and my canines sharpen. My vision turns to monochrome and I snarl. Blaring my teeth. Everyone looks at me in horror. All except the king of the gods and uncle, Zeus. A spark appears in his eyes, which sends a shiver of fear through me. He had the eyes of a hunter staring down his prey.
