Fintan stood outdoor in the Palace grassy training arena, it was early afternoon and it was time for his fight with Vasil. I had spoken to Jere yesterday in the restroom when she practically begged for her mate's life since she knew a showdown was inevitable. There was just no contest, Fintan was the larger and more dominant Alpha.

I mentioned Jere's conversation to Fintan last night and he looked at me with a pensive stare.

'I'm just telling you what Jere said, I'm not telling you to be lenient or merciful. I know that man has been a thorn in your side your entire life and I don't like him either. I know that man is the leader of the Archaics and responsible for much of the Omega slavery system in Europe,' I linked my mate.

I moved toward Fintan who was standing and looking out our bedroom window and wrapped my arms around his waist, pressing my face to his back. We just stood there for a few minutes before I let go and went to the computer to 'face time' with Jeremy again.

All the Alphas and Lunas were sitting in some bleachers setup for the occasion, this wasn't officially to determine who would become King, but unofficially the winner would win the Monarchy. The entire event led to this moment, and I was still nervous. I noticed that neither the King or Queen was present, no doubt they were watching it inside their safe Palace.

Vasil entered from the training facility and walked to the arena, a swagger in his step and no hesitation whatsoever. There was no referee, there were no rules. When Vasil walked into the center of the fighting area he shouted to Fintan who was just standing there watching him, his torso bare and his hands held behind him.

"Ready?" Vasil asked as he stopped about ten feet from Fintan.

"Yes," is all Fintan said, and before I could take my next breath Vasil rushed toward Fintan to punch him in the jaw, but he moved so fast all I saw was a blur of movement.

Fintan was prepared and stepped out of the way faster than I could even track his movements, then gave Vasil a kidney punch as he flew by. Vasil spun around enraged and moved so fast I couldn't hardly keep track of the fight, both figures were just a blur. The fight was brutal, both men bleeding and ferocious in their attacks.

Punch after punch could be heard, the fighting still so fast it was hard to see anything. Suddenly I saw Vasil shift into his wolf, but that gave Fintan an opportunity for a few swift blows to the head.

And before I knew it Vasil was out cold on the ground in wolf form, blood running down his face from multiple cuts and immobile. He was unconscious and badly beaten. I'd never seen two Alpha's fight before. I never knew Alphas could move so damn fast.

"Vasil!" I heard his mate cry as she started to run to him, but she was restrained by Palace Guards. Fintan had the right to kill him and stood there looking down at him, blood running down his own face and body from many cuts, clenching and unclenching his fists trying to control his boiling rage.

Fintan looked directly at me and asked me via our 'link', 'What do you command?'

Well what the hell, why was Fintan asking me to spare the man? 'You knew you would defeat him, what was your plan?' I asked him.

'I was going to kill him, but... there might be another way.' And then like an unbelievable horror movie I saw an arrow sticking out from his chest, the barbed tip facing me and appearing like some gruesome magic show.
