The two were sat on what was left over of an abandoned bridge by the dock as they looked at the sea. The dark brunette sighed, a cloud of his breath leaving his mouth and blending in with the cold air. The light brunette turned to him, tilting his head slightly to the side as he looked at the side of the other's face.
"Do you think mermaids really exist?" Taehyung asked his dongsaeng as he looked at the sea below them.
"Hyung, what nonsense," Jungkook quickly responded. Taehyung sighed and lowly mumbled,
"But I believe in mermaids" his head hung lowly as he imagined all the possible way he could catch one, or at least even take a glance of one. Jungkook shook his head and wrapped an arm around Taehyung's shoulders.
"Yah Hyung, don't be so down about it. I mean just look at this sea, so much is yet to be discovered. Maybe, just maybe, you will find . . ." he froze, in the middle of his sentence, as he gestured at the sea to his Hyung, in the corner of his eye, he caught something. Something that shone brightly even on a cold and cloudly day. Something that could have looked like the waves on a summer morning, when the sun was high up, creating blinding sparkles against them. But just as fast as he saw it, it was gone, like it was never there.
"One," he breathed out, he quickly got up and pulled Taehyung next to him.
"I think we should head back home," he said before pulling him away from the edge of the bridge. Taehyung gave him an odd look and looked back at the sea.
"What did you see?" Taehyung asked curiously as he turned back to look at Jungkook.
"Nothing" he quickly mumbled out in response.
"Just nothing"
