"so why did you run away to seoul?" she asked before taking a sip of her drink.

"oh, um.." i wasn't sure how to answer the question.

"i'm actually from china." she looked out the cafe window.

"you are?"

"yes, i ran away from home too," she sighed.

"mina," i said softly.

she turned back towards me.

"the reason i ran away was because my mom passed away. she was the only person who cared about me. my brother always treated me like shit and my dad never paid any attention to me. so one day i decided that i had enough of being mistreated and i came to seoul." i said.

"neither of my parents ever cared about me. i was only a mistake to them. i'm completely useless," she said as her eyes started tearing up.

"mina, you're not a mistake and you certainly aren't useless. you're here for a reason. you're the only person who makes me happy. i know that's weird to say since we just met recently but i just thought you should know."

a small smile appeared on her face.

"i understand you," i said as i reached out for her hand on the table.

"you make me happy too," she said softly, "you're an amazing person."
