"It was SICK tonight!" Josh shouted, very happy.
"Yes, it was." Answered Tyler, his hand playing with his fluffy hair.
Both friends exchanged a knowing look which showed how much they were loving each other, as friend. Soulmates friends. Josh was moved with his best friend's expression: he was nervous. Yet, he had been amazing tonight, as always. Each show was always better than the previous. But the adrenaline was slowly vanishing to let Tyler's strange thoughts rotate in his mind. Fortunately, Josh was here to entertain his friend. As Jenna. The latter flung herself in her husband's arms to congratulate him. Tyler's face lighted up, like every time he saw his wife, his angel, his savior. Josh rolled his eyes because it was HIS best friend but he eventually smiled because Jenna and Tyler were cute.
"I am still here guys," he said, crossing his arms across his chest to express his false annoyance.
"Come here" Jenna encouraged while she was catching him to pull him towards them in order to hug.
Tyler gave a little tap onto Josh's buttocks and removed himself from the hug, ill-at-ease with extended physical contacts. He didn't want to be touched by anybody but his wife. Or Josh. Sometimes.
"Guys, we have to pack up!" Jenna said.
She kissed Tyler and left the two boys to begin to pack up.
Tyler gazed at her while she was leaving, admiring the woman he loved deeply. He felt tired and excited at the same time. He didn't want to sleep, he never wanted to sleep. He didn't like it, he didn't like to feel weak and vulnerable. His nature was to be excitable. He always needed to move, to be busy, to entertain himself. His brown eyes stopped on Josh who was drying his wet chest with a towel. Their shows were physical and himself needed a good shower to get rid of his sweat. He slathered his hands and his neck with black paint before shows and now, the paint had spread everywhere, which made him feel dirty. The night had gone too fast. He would have liked the show never ended. He felt right on stage, his crazy thoughts were silent when he was on stage and it was a great feeling. He shook his head as if he wanted to clear his mind then followed Josh outside the green-room to clean up their stuffs.
The venue which was overpopulated just an hour before, was now sadly empty. There were security guards, plus all the staff and the crew's members and the technicians. A little fan's group were remained, hoping to have a photo or an autograph. Josh and Tyler agreed to take a photo with each of them, very happy to be close of their fans. Yet Josh felt quite uncomfortable in front of so much attention and Tyler was impassive outside but inside, he was astounded that his work, his music, was so appreciated. He always had difficulties to believe that hundreds of people could like what he created but fortunately, fans were always present to remind him that what he was doing was great.
When the last fans had left, all the crew begun to work. Technicians unplugged the material, Josh was in charge of his drums, while Tyler was with his piano. Everything went very fast, it was a habit. They did this almost all nights. Almost everybody knew each other that it's why the cleaning unfolded in a joyous and relaxed atmosphere. Only security guards were shying away from them, making their business on their side. Generally, Tyler and Josh travelled with three or four members who were looking after them and they knew them very well. But the team working on the security as well as the persons responsible of the organization of shows were always unknown, so it was impossible to know everyone.
Josh was distractedly playing drums, watching Tyler dancing at any old how in the middle of the stage. He smiled in front of this performance, chewing his pink gum. They could have been faster but they loved having fun so they were rapidly distracted. It was quite funny. Josh begun to play drums to accompany Tyler's improvised choreography, making the atmosphere warm and childish. They eventually decided to go on with the tidying and they were soon ready to leave for the next town, for the next show. Touring was exhausting but Josh and Tyler loved it. To be on stage, meeting the fans, laughing with the crew, sleeping on their tour bus or in hotels... It was like a dream. They were particularly happy during these moments.
They were about to leave. They just had a few things to do first. Josh came back to the green room to gather his stuffs before leaving. When he entered the room, he almost collided with a girl who was going out the place. What the hell was that? What was she doing here? It was supposed to be a private room, reserved for him, Tyler and the crew. He had never seen this girl before, she shouldn't be here.
"Oh sorry! I was looking for the bathroom but it's not here obviously," she said with a beautiful voice and a very cute accent.
Josh could tell English was not his native language. Intrigued, he lowered his eyes to truly look at her. She was quite short. More than him at least. She had long brown hair, with mahogany reflects which were lightly wavy. She had some freckles on her cheeks and Josh thought she looked cute. He met her eyes and was taken aback by their color. They were royal-blue, with tiny glimmers of light-blue and emerald green. In fact, they were indescribable, they were breathtaking. Josh had never seen something like that. It was sick. He had the feeling that she could read his mind with a single gaze. But she had the look. That look. Tyler's look. The kind of look which made Josh understand that something was going on though her mind. He was very impressed by her whereas she seemed totally indifferent. He was totally stressed out, he didn't know what to do or say.
"Err... This... This way" he stammered, showing her the way with his hand.
"Thanks. And sorry again." She replied while she was leaving.
Josh watched her until she is out of his sight. She just left. She just ignored him. Maybe she didn't recognize him. Or maybe she didn't care. His mouth was dried, he was hot and his heart was pounding in his chest. He felt weird. He remained motionless for a while and got a grip on himself only when Tyler appeared in the corridor. When he saw his friend, Tyler immediately worried.
"Are you okay Josh?" he asked, frowning.
"I... Well... Yes" he replied with difficulty because the girl's eyes were dancing in his mind and didn't want to let him alone. "Have you seen this girl?"
"What girl?"
Josh's behavior surprised Tyler. He wasn't used to see his friend so lost and odd. He was the weird guy, not Josh. Plus, he hadn't seen any girl in the last few minutes.
"It doesn't matter. We should go." Josh said, shaking his head.
"No, no. Tell me," he ordered, now very curious.
"There was a girl in the green room when I arrived and she asked me where she could find bathrooms and she just left. I don't think she is a fan but she doesn't seem to be a technician or something else so..."
"What is she doing here?" Tyler completed.
"Yeah."
Tyler smiled mysteriously, making Josh frown. In fact, maybe Tyler could help his friend. Josh gave him a look which meant: What have you in mind? But Tyler didn't answer to the look Josh gave him. He grabbed his friend by the hand without a word and led him outside, where a small group was talking. Jenna and Tyler's brother, Zack and Debby, Josh's friend were there as well as some crew's members. And the unknow girl was here too.
