One month later;

Samantha stared up at the clock, knee bouncing in anticipation for Jonathan to arrive. Finally, after spending all day with her intense relatives, she was going to spend dinner with the Byers family and to say she was excited, was an understatement.

She loved her family, really, she did but they were a lot to handle. Especially when her mom and dad got into an argument about some T.V program they had both been watching.

"You'll be back by midnight at the latest, right?" Caroline said quietly, watching her daughter with a large smile on her face.

"Of course," Samantha nodded, "I've never broken a curfew before, have I?"

"I suppose not," she hummed, "Have fun. And tell Jonathan to drive safely."

From outside, there was three honks and Samantha practically squealed with excitement.

"Remember the presents!" her mom called as she tore down the stairs.

"I will!"

Outside, Jonathan waited patiently, turning up the heat when he saw the front door open.
For some reason, his girlfriend was always cold.

He got out of the car and moved around it to greet her, smiling as she dropped the bags in her hands and he let out a grunt when she ran into his arms.

"Hi," she giggled, holding something above his head and looking up, he saw it was mistletoe.

"Really?" he asked but he couldn't help the smile that spread across his face.

"Yup," she grinned, "Now pucker up, Byers."

He rolled his eyes but granted her wish, his lips pressing against hers softly.

"We just need to get Will from Mike's then we can be on our way." he informed her when she had pulled away and he left her for a brief moment so he could pick up the bags she had dropped. After placing them in the trunk, his hand found the small of her back, leading her across the street to her cousin's.

"It's only me and Jonathan!" Samantha called, pushing the door open, "So if you're wrapping my gift, you better hide it."

Nancy appeared from the sitting room, giving the couple a bright smile as Steve followed her out, "Hey. Can I borrow Samantha for a minute?"

"Sure," Jonathan nodded, "I'll go get Will."

Samantha watched him go, biting her lip to suppress a smile. She couldn't believe that he was hers.

"I got it," Steve said, breaking her from her daydream and she noticed he was holding a neatly wrapped box in his hands.

"Great," she nodded, "He'll love it."

"I hope so. I still can't believe he's forgiven me for being such an asshole to him."

"Me neither," Samantha teased, smiling at Will as he emerged from the basement.

"Samantha!" he cheered, "I won!"

"You did?" she gasped, nudging him gently, "I knew you could do it! And you were worried."

After wishing the rest of her family a merry Christmas and Nancy giving the gift to Jonathan, steve didn't want him knowing it was from him, the three of them quickly made their way back outside to Jonathan's car and he quickly opened the door for Samantha.
