Chapter 2|Familiar red curls?

Silence filled the room and awaited the answer to a new name being spoken.

Riley's eyes glided across the room trying to find the face that matched the name being spoken. The face that catched his interest earlier on in the day as well as the unusual red locks he had.

"Alexander Smith"

The enchanting name was spoken again and agitated sigh left Mr Eastwoods lips as he marked the student as absent.

Hours passed by ever so slowly and soon came the time that Riley had to walk his long way home. It took Riley at least half an hour to get home each day and due to the lack of money his family had meaning they couldn't afford to buy him a car at all so that left walking to be the only option.

Walking to his locker to put away his belongings, Riley was about to place one of his heavy textbooks into his locker but instead received a touch on his shoulder.

Riley turned and saw Rosy, James's girlfriend, who wore a small frown on her red lipstick stained lips. Stray eyes of jealousy would usually follow Rosy as she was one of the most beautiful girls at this school. She wore a floral patterned sun dress that showed of her curves and her wavy blonde locks rested on her revealed shoulders. Adding to this she was also extremely smart and had a consistent grade of A in any paper she took part in.

"Hi Riley do you know where James is?" she said with slight concern laced in her voice.

"No I haven't seen him since lunch sorry" Riley said rushily as he tried to quickly shove his books in his locker as the hallways were crammed with lots of students eager to go home.

"Oh ok its just we were going to go out together" she said sadly as she peered at all the students in the crowded hallway hoping to catch a glimps of her boyfriend.

A beeping sound disturbed their short conversation and with a sigh Riley took out his phone and glanced at the text he had received.

Riley can you please pick up your brother because I'm working overtime tonight thanks xxx

Riley sighed yet again as he thought that he could have had a relaxing long walk home but luckily his brothers school was on his way home.

Riley looked up from his phone and looked to see where Rosy had gone but received his answer when giggles were heard behind him. He turned to see his friend and his girlfriend walking down the corridor while playfully fighting and ever so often casting pecks on each others lips.

Riley smiled slightly at the happy relationship his friend had and glanced at the wide smile that overtook his friends face. This display of affection causing Riley to feel even more alone than he already was due to his lack or better yet non existent relationships he had.

With a sigh Riley hurriedly squeezed through any people in his way and made his way to his brothers school.

The smell of petrol was smelt as Riley began to walk across the deserted street that usually occupied many dog owners walking there dogs or old ladies finishing there daily shopping. Laughs, giggles and chatting was heard from the school gates of his brothers school and as Riley was about to call for his brother but was greeted with a smiling Ethan.

"Guess what Riles there's this newboy at school and he has the coolest stories ever and especially about these wolfs who attack and stuff and guess what he wants to be my friend can you believe it someone so cool wants to be my friend" spoke a blabbering Ethan as he rushily tried to explain his eventful day to his older brother.

Riley smiled at his brothers happiness and continued to listen to the 8 year olds day but it was cut short due to a childlike voice yelling his brothers name.

"Ethan" spoke a boyish young voice as a red haired boy with unusually familiar curls sprinted across the playground to meet his newfound brown haired friend.

Ethan ran to meet up with his friend halfway and hardly being out of breath they both exchanged a slight smile but Ethan's eyes shown with curiosity.

"Hi I just wanted to say bye because you left before I could say it" stuttured out a red faced Noah as he twiddled the end of his fingers together and this being his usual nervous gesture.

"I'm sorry Noah I just wanted to tell my big bro something" smiled a happy Ethan as his brown orbs examined Noah and his curiosity for the boy still not disappearing.

Only joy was emitted from the atmosphere between the two and they both exchanged a secret smile and bided their farewell with the secret handshake they had learned earlier on in the day.

Both boys turned to face their direction home and as the two steadily walked towards their parents and older brother they both smiled their boyish smile once again and this showing their excitement for the next day to come.

Ethan then turned to Riley whose eyes shown with question but with a sudden touch to his chest and a faint yell of "you're it!", Riley knew it had to wait till later.
