She walked down the aisle, in that beautiful white dress. Her eyes sparkled happily as she made her way closer, her arm hooked within her father's. My palms were sweaty, and I felt like I would faint. But I didn't.
She reached the alter, and let go of her father, flashing a bright smile.
Her smile was contagious, and I found myself grinning, and giggling like an idiot in her presence. "You're beautiful." I told her, grabbing her hands in my own. "I love you Reita." She smiled, and tears started welling up in my eyes. I was about to marry the woman of my dreams. The woman who had sacrificed so much for me. Giving up her privacy to be in the public's view, or spending countless nights alone because of my busy schedule.
But I didn't.
Instead, I woke up. I woke up in a cold sweat, all by myself, regretting the day I'd let her slip away. Wondering, "What if I'd just told her just how much I loved her."
