Anakin walked into Padmé Amidala's apartment, signalling the delivery man to wait for him to return. He headed towards the bedroom.
Padmé was trying new clothes on in her bedroom, when Anakin walked in. "My hero of the republic. You're back!" She exclaimed.
"Just in time to see My Lady the Chancellor Of The Grand Republic herself." Anakin flirted. "I have a surprise for you."
"I'm ready. What is it?" Padmé asked curiously.
"You have to wait and see." Anakin replied. He covered her eyes. "No peeking."Padmé opened her eyes to see a delivery ship sitting next to Anakin's speeder. She walked up to the ship, hand and hand with her perfect husband. There was a crib, made out of pure silver. "It's beautiful! Thank you so much!" She cried, and she reached up to give Anakin a quick kiss on cheek.
"My pleasure." Anakin beamed.
"Where would you like this, sir?" The delivery man asked.
"Oh, it's fine, I can take it." Anakin told him.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Rex removed his helmet. "Congratulations on becoming Chancellor." He added to Padmé. "And the baby."
"Why, thank you, Rex!" Padmé smiled.
"You're welcome. I'll leave you and General Skywalker alone now." Rex waited for Anakin to pick up the crib and place it carefully outside of the ship, then got in the front and launched it into the air.Anakin watched Rex leaving for a second, then pushed the apartment door open with one hand, lifting the crib with the other, his midichlorians working hard to keep the door open without dropping the crib. He placed the crib in one of the spare rooms, which was soon to be the baby's room.
"When the baby is born, do you think Ahsoka would be willing to babysit when I go back to work?" Padmé asked Anakin.
"I'm not sure where she is, what she's doing nor whether she will come back, but I can try to contact her." Anakin told her.
