|Chapter 2|Chores & Rewards|
Clementine's Point Of Veiw-
"Why are you wandering about the streets!" He said.
"I always do my afternoon walks, I thought you knew I was going out!" I said.
"Well this isn't the place to be. Come on now, we are going back to the lab and your going to do some chores."
"No!" I screamed.
"Darling, how dare you disobey me!" He said.
"Darling my ass!" I yelled.
"You better come right this instant young lady!"
"How about, no." I said blankly.
I stood up and dusted myself off.
"Why are you here anyways!" He said.
"I'm here with my" I paused and looked at Mitch "friend."
"You mustn't have enough time for friends come along now." He said.
I got up and walked to the door.
I waved to Mitch and I looked at the number on the outside of the house.
"341" I mumbled quietly to myself.
I followed him with about a yard in between us and slowly dragged myself to the lab.
"Now when we get home, you are to do the dishes and the laundry, okay?" He said.
"Yeah, yeah." I said with displeasure.
He unlocked the door and I got to work.
Dishes, and more dishes were stacked upon each other in the sink. I got the sponge and started putting soapy water in the dish pan, drowning each dish in the pan one by one then putting them onto the drying rack. Boring, right.
Next was the laundry, old stinky clothes with food stains on them and who knows what! Putting the dirty clothes into the washing machine and taking the dry clothes out of the dryer. I began folding the clothes and neatly putting them in the hamper, force of habit.
When I am finished I see that he has fallen asleep, and I decide to sneak out again.
"341" I repeat to myself as I count down the houses.
"341"
"341"
"341!" I say.
I walk up the cobblestone stairs and knock on the door.
As I am waiting I kick at the snow.
Then the door opens, revealing Mitch.
"Your back!" He said.
"Yeah I'm back, he fell asleep, haha" I giggle.
"Oh haha!" He said "why don't you come in."
I stepped in and felt the warmth of the house fill my body.
"I'm so glad it's warm in here!" I said.
"I had frostbite earlier, and it burnt like hell!" I said.
"Why don't you keep this." An unrecognizable boy said handing me some type of ointment.
"Thanks" I said "who are you by the way?"
"I'm Jerome" he said "and you?"
"Heh, I'm Clementine." I said.
"Well it's nice to meet you." He said.
"You too"
Mitch's Point Of View-
I went in the kitchen and filled 3 mugs with water and heated them in the microwave.
When they were finished heating up I poured cocoa mix into them and made us some hot chocolate.
I brought them all into the living room.
"Would you like some hot cocoa?" I said.
"Sure" Clementine said.
"Anyways, do you have a nickname because your name is really long!" I said.
"Well people call me Clem." Clementine said "So I guess you can call me that."
"Alright cool!" I said.
"Well I'm glad we're friends, I really need to get out of there!" She said.
"Yeah you can come here anytime." I said.
"I really can't thank you enough." She said.
"You don't have to, it's our pleasure." I said.
