-Danny I want to stop- I said stubbornly through our mind link. We had been running for at least 12 hours straight.

-Fine- Danny grumbled, we stopped just as we reached a small stream.

The pain from being so far away from R-... My mate, was starting to hurt.

I whimpered subconsciously.

-Hey it's going to be okay, the pain will end soon- Danny promised, I nodded.

We began running again, until I was tackled to the ground.

There was a wolf on top of me, and I saw a man walk into the clearing we had entered.

"One step and she's dead" he said to Danny.

I whimpered under the wolf that was holding me down, he growled at me.

Beta.

The man must be the Alpha.

"Shift" the man demanded Danny.

Definitely an Alpha.

Danny shifted and was thrown shorts, that he quickly put on.

"Why have you invaded our territory" Alpha asked.

"We didn't mean too, it was an honest mistake Sir." Danny told him.

"I don't take well to rouges"

"We're not rouges" Danny argued.

I let out a low growl at him.

"Well I guess we are now" he said looking over to me, we couldn't afford him lying to the Alpha, he'd get us killed.

I guess the Beta thought I growled at him, cause he growled loudly at me. He nipped my shoulder just enough to hurt me.

I cried out in pain. My wolf started taking over. She was in full control in a few seconds, there was nothing I could do.

-Danny help- I called to him.

My wolf flipped the beta over and pinned him to the ground biting his shoulder, he easily threw us across the clearing and was on top of me before I could stand.

I knew when I landed he broke my shoulder. It hurt really bad.

He growled at me, and I whimpered under him. The pain had distracted my wolf enough for me to regain control.

He kept his teeth bared as I cowered under him.

I was scared, he was reminding me of my father.

-Danny please, help. He's acting just like, just like...-

-don't say it- Danny warned me before speaking.

"Please get off her" Danny pleaded, "your scaring her"

"Mason" the Alpha called.

The wolf jumped off of me but stayed close.

I ran over to Danny and pressed myself up against his legs.

He rested a hand on my head.

"Is she your mate?" Alpha asked eyeing me.

"No" Danny replied.

"Then how did you know he was scaring her"

"Mind link" Danny answered.

"Only mates and siblings have mind link outside of there pack. Are you siblings"

"Not exactly.." Danny trailed off.

"Then explain" the Alpha said annoyed.

-stop playing and tell him- I told Danny looking up at him.

"She's my protected" he told him rolling his eyes at me.

"Impossible, there's no more protecter pairs" the Alpha said, seeming to tell himself that more than us.

"Were the last one" Danny told him looking down at me and smiling.

"That's amazing" Alpha murmered.

Danny only nodded in response.

"So where are you headed" Alpha asked,

"To find a pack to join" Danny said.

"Well you've found one"

"Really? That would mean a lot!"

"Of course, you two will be good additions to this pack, and we'd be happy to have you join"

"Thank you so much" Danny said shaking the Alphas hand.

"I didn't catch your names" Alpha said

"I'm Danny, that's Aria"

"I'm Alpha Devon Knight, and welcome to the Dark Night pack"
