I woke up in an infirmary. My head hurt, my legs, hurt, ... everything hurt. I looked over at my bloody Survey Corp jacket and shredded cape.

I almost died... No, I should be dead, it didn't make sense how I wasn't being digested in a Titans stomach right about now.

"You're awake." My general said walking into the room.

"Yes Sir I am, thank you for helpin-"

"Shut it." He snapped and I stopped talking. "I don't know how, or why you're sitting here in front of me right now. Any other person would be dead. You made a careless mistake on the battle field and some how avoided the consequences. Think of all the soldiers who died saving a comrade or died killing a Titan. But you made the dumb mistake of using you gear on the ground, and you're still here."

"I-I'm sorry sir, I-" He held up his hand to silence me.

"However... I've never seen someone ride back from certain doom on a Titan. Now I can say I've seen everything." He chuckled to himself and I relaxed a little. "You're a stubborn kid, ya know that? In all honesty I'm happy to see you're alive, your friends in the corp would barely do anything after you disappeared."

"Thank you, sir." I said. He walked towards the door.

"I'm expecting you to be back in action by next week." He said.

"I'll be back out there tomorrow." I said saluting him. He chuckled and left the room. After he left I winced and slowly put my arms down. The movement from just saluting him hurt like hell. I decided to go back to sleep and laid down again. Just then Luna and Jasper burst through the door.

"You're alive!!!" Luna yelled and tackled me which hurt a lot. "I-I'm so g-glad you're ok!" She started crying into my shoulder. Jasper looked on from the foot of my bed.

"Are you gonna cry too tough guy?" I asked him. He immediately started balling and walked over to me. Then he slapped me in the face. "What the hell man?!"

"Don't ever do that again..." He said. "Don't you ever die on me, ever!"

"Of course Jasper, I'll try my best." I said smiling at him. "What is the corp doing tomorrow?"

"Horse back scouting mission. We're going to an old town a few miles away from the wall with another Survey corp troop." Luna said standing up.

"Nice, save a horse for me ok?" I said swing my legs over the edge of the bed.

"What?! No way you need to rest!" Jasper yelled. He stood in front of me preventing me from standing up.

"Get out of my way Jasper." I said. He shook his head stubbornly. I sighed and punched him in the stomach leaving him on the ground. "I think I'll be fine." I grabbed the new clothes they gave me and went to the bathroom to change. Luna was laughing at Jasper saying he 'should've seen that coming' and I laughed to myself.

I went to the training room, which was thankfully empty. Just walking this far was painful enough.  I started doing exercises to get my strength back.

"I don't remember telling you that you could get out of bed." The infirmary doctor scolded. "You aren't ready. How do you feel?"

"I feel fine..." I said gritting my teeth. I didn't feel fine, in fact I felt like shit. But I don't like showing weakness, especially in front of adults.

"You may be a good liar to most, but not with me." He said and he walked over to me. "Now let's try this again with more honesty. How do you feel?"

"I told you that I feel-" the doctor swept my leg out from under me and I landed hard on my side. I yelled a bit from the pain and tears pricked at my eyes.

"You have a fractured rib, not to mention other bruises and cuts that need to heal. You will go back to the bed, understand?" I nodded and shakily stood up. The doctor helped me back to my room and put me back into the bed.

"I wanted to ask you something Blair." He said. "Why are your eyes like that? One grey and one purple I mean, it's quite unusual."

"If I knew I'd tell you, my eyes have always been like that."I replied. "Is there anyway for me to go on the scouting mission tomorrow?"

"Hmm... I wouldn't recommend it." I dropped my head in disappointment. "However I think I can help you get through it if you really want to go."

"Really?! Thank you so much!" He chuckle and walked towards the door.

"Until then sleep." He said walking out.

I woke up early in the morning to find the doctor was already there. "Good morning. Are you sure you want to do this still?"

"Of course, I told my friends I'd be there." I said. He nodded an took out a needle.

"This will numb your pain for today. Now hold still..."

"Ok we're all here and accounted for." The leader of the mission said. "Follow my lead and off you fall behind, we won't be waiting for you."

"Wait!!" I yelled running as fast as I could. "I'm here!"

"Why are you here?!" The leader asked in surprise. "Shouldn't you be resting." He looked at the bandages on my chest. "You're still injured!"

"The doctor told me to give this to you." I said handing him a note. He read it and glanced up at me.

"Fine, but if you slow us down so help me I'll-"

"I won't Sir." He looked at me skeptically and pointed at a horse. "Thank you Sir." I walked over to the horse and heard whispers from the rest of the troop as I walked by.

"Isn't she supposed to be dead?!"

"I heard she rode a Titan, like a horse."

"How did she recover so quickly?!"

"Ok everyone quiet!" The leader yelled shutting everyone up. I got up on the horse and moved over to my friends. "Let's go!"

"You sure you're ready for this Blair?" Jasper asked.

"I'm always ready." I said and ride out with the others.
