My troop of survey corps, rode our horses into the town surrounded by trees, outside the walls. The rookies, as usual, looked terrified. I can't blame them. I shifted in my saddle, knowing my ribs were still injured. Whatever the doctor gave me made my entire body numb. At least if I get eaten by a Titan, I won't feel it.
The leader signaled for everyone to stop. In the distance we could hear the familiar stomping of Titans, running toward us. "Everyone prepare yourselves...." The leader's voice was just above a whisper. Everyone grabbed their swords scanning the woods.
"T-There!!" one of the newbies yelled in terror. A group of ten or more titians were coming at us at full sprint. I stood up in my saddle and rode toward the Titans with a Luna, Jasper, and a few others following behind me. I shot my gear into a high branch, flying into the air, over a titan's head. Luna and I both attacked its nape, killing it. Soldiers were flying everywhere, some successfully killing a Titan, while others were crushed, trampled and eaten.
Jasper and I were both about to attack one when it swung its hand, knocking us both to the ground. I quickly stood up, feeling my shoulder pop out of place, though not feeling the pain. I helped Jasper to his feet as the Titan bent down, grinning sickly at us. My head felt weird, not painful but like it was buzzing. Maybe I hit my head. It reached out and grabbed Jasper. I prepared to be picked up too but it completely ignored me. I looked up at it confused and angry.
"Blair?!" Jasper yelled, struggling uselessly. I switched out my blades and ran at it.
"Put him down!!" I screamed and was about to shoot my gear up to try to save him when the Titan looked down at me. It slowly looked at Jasper and gently put him back on the ground. Jasper looked as confused as I was, glancing over at me.
"B-Blair.... Your eyes" he stared at me wide eyed.
"What about them?" I asked confused.
"They're... glowing?" He glances at the Titan, who was staring at me expectantly. "I-It listened to you..."
"I doubt that... It won't listen to anything. I'll prove it" I scoffed and looked at the Titan. "Go kill that big Titan!"
It stared at me for a while, making both me and Jasper uneasy. The it slowly nodded and ran to the one I pointed at, biting down on the back of its neck, killing it.
"Holy shit..." I ran after it and used my gear to stand on its back. "Now kill that one!" I commanded pointing at the closest one to me. It attacked it, forcing me to hold on for dear life.
"Blair?! What in gods name are you doing?!" My leader yelled us at me. I looked at him, my eyes glowing bright enough for me to see the reflection in my blade.
"I don't know!" I answered. The corp continued fighting the Titans, while I commanded the Titan that listened to me to kill the others. Eventually all the Titans ,except mine, were dead.
The Titan I was riding crouched down so I could get off it safely. I jumped down clutching my dislocated shoulder, everyone staring at me dumbfounded. "Before you ask I don't know either... Can someone kill that one? I think I messed up my arm" Jasper and Luna nod and jump up slicing its nape.
"How the hell did you do that?!" The leader yelled.
Jasper spoke before I could "I think it's her eyes sir" Whispers traveled through the troop. Everyone was staring at me .
"Her eyes...?" The leader mumbled to himself, staring at my eyes. I shifted uncomfortably, not likening everyone's eyes on me. "Everyone back to the city... Blair you will be coming with me to headquarters once we get back..."
"Yes sir..." I replied, saluting him with one arm. We all jumped back on our horses and rode back to the city. I silently followed my leader to the main building at headquarters. We were about to enter a room when we were stopped by a few soldiers.
"Sorry sir but there's is a meeting going on between the generals. You'll have to come back later"
"That's not an option, this is a very pressing matter that must be addressed immediately..." The leader grumbled, giving the soldiers a look. They looked between each other and sighed opening the door.
I followed my leader into the room. There was a large table in the center and portraits of past commanders and generals on the walls. There were about fifteen men sitting around the table, all staring at us.
"What is the meaning of this commander Stevens...?" The head general growled, standing. "You are interrupting a very important meeting!"
"Sir will all due respect this is also very important" Stevens said calmly. He pushed me forward and everyone turned their eyes to me. "I believe you would like to hear what I have to say"
The general sighed and sat back down. "You have a minuet. If I'm not intrigued by then you must leave immediately"
"That's reasonable, although I don't need a full minuet." He cleared his through and put his hand on my shoulder. "This is private Blair Tormaigh. As you can probably see she has very unique eyes. Today during our scouting mission, Ms. Tormaigh some how took control of a Titan and ordered it to kill eight other Titans..." That got everyone's attention.
"She... took control of a Titan...?" The general asked slowly.
"Yes sir... Now if I'm not mistaken that matches a certain prophecy, am I right...?" Stevens asked and the general nodded. My commander smiled at me. "I thought so too..."
