Janvi came up and told

Ja: Oh Shit! Sorry Kriya. I forgot to tell you. It's Karva Chauth tomorrow.

Kriya was shocked. Karva Chauth. She had always found it too melodramatic. Like always, whenever she saw the festival on TV she found it too cheesy to handle. She preferred festivals like Teej than this. Looking at your husband's face after seeing moon. Ugh! So overly- romantic. And Kriya always felt that love shouldn't be so cheesy. She wasn't aromantic. Just that she didn't like showing of affection too much.

And the second problem. Rey! Doing anything that would make him feel special or signal him that she was serious about this marriage was impossible.

But she didn't have a choice. She couldn't say no to Janvi. Janvi always treated her so nice. Like her mother.

Janvi snapped.

Ja: Earth calling Kriya

Kr: Yes Ma! Haan. Kya Karna hai mujhe?

Rey looked at her shocked. Kriya knew she owed an explanation.

Ja: Nothing much. Go to your room now. Wake up at 3 tomorrow. Then once you come back from office, we will break the fast after the rituals.

Kr: Okay!

Kriya went to her room. Rey was already present there.

Rey was about to speak when

Kr: I know you will say it's not necessary. And frankly speaking, I am not even doing this for you.

Re: Then? Eat once we reach office. I don't want you to do all this.

Kr: Listen Rey! I have no absolute feelings for you. And not am I doing this for you. I am doing it cause your mom, in fact your whole family is damn sweet. I don't want to play with their feelings. And Ya, I won't have food once I am at office. Cause they may or may not get go know. But I will have a guilt feeling. Get it

Rey just shakes his head in despair and slept. So did Kriya.

She woke up at 3. Went down. She saw all the ladies of the house sitting. Including Nani and Shanaya.

Kr: Shanaya Kya Kar rahi hai?

Shn: Bhabhi! I have also kept fast. You know might be in future I get a good boyfriend. *everyone starts laughing*
What? I am dead serious.

Kr: Yeah yeah! I get it

They all had the food and then were about to leave when

Ja: Kriya!

Kr: Yes ma

Ja: It's your first Karva Chauth, so here's a gift from my side

Saying this she handed Kriya a Beautiful Saree. It looked damn expensive.
