Fear and Cowardice

Two similar things, entirely different at the same time,
Fear and cowardice, often mistaken as the same,
But leagues away in differences,
For both have different meanings.

For what do you feel when you think of doing something?
It can be fear or either cowardice, it depends.
It is fear when you dread about trying it.
It is cowardice if you fear it without trying.

It is fine to fear for everyone has their own fears.
It is normal in every human's nature.
But cowardice is not, for it is an option,
Chosen by spineless people without backbones.

Cowardice allows your fears to stop you.
It limits what you can do and holds you back.
For it means giving up without trying,
Signifying that the battle has already been lost before it even began.
