chapter two

Shannon's POV

it's the day after I met the amazing boy in the park, Jai. I get out of bed and check my phone

'1 new message'

It was from a random number, it must be him. As I opened the message, I could feel butterflies in my stomach.

'morning beautiful, it's Jai, the boy from the park yesterday :) I woke up thinking about you and wondered if you wanted to meet up today? same place, same time as yesterday?'

He called me beautiful! that is the sweetest text I have ever received, Jai has been thinking about me! I told myself to play it cool, treat them mean to keep them keen right? I put my phone back on my bedside table and strolled downstairs. It's not a big house that I live in here in Australia, but it's much bigger than the one I used to live in in England.

There is an average sized driveway where the cars are parked and a garden with the greenest grass I have ever seen. There was a spot of the garden where they had planted lots of flowers, especially white roses, my favourite. The front door is big, double wooden doors that go inwards. As you walk in, you can see all of the rooms downstairs. To the left is a living area where there is a flat screen 3D tv up on the wall, three white sofas positioned in a way that they can all see the tv. In the middle of the sofas is a large glass table and there are fashion magazines spread across it. To the right is the large wooden staircase followed by another room next to it. This is where the spare bedroom is. It contains a large double bed, everything in there is white, there are glass double doors that lead to the back garden. Straight ahead is the kitchen, all of it is also white. There are also double glass doors leading to the back garden. There is a door under the stairs, I've never been in there, they told me I'm not allowed in there. As you go upstairs it is all also open space. My bedroom is at the front of the house, the wall facing the street is all glass, luckily I have curtains! The other walls are painted blue, it's my favourite colour. I have a double bed, which is white and a large mirror in front of my desk to make is easy for me to do my make up in. I have my own bathroom, everything in there is black. I have a massive bath tub! further towards the back of the house is the other bedrooom, I don't know what that looks like, I'm not allowed in there either. This house would be great for parties and sleepovers, I will have to wait until I start school to test that, if I'm even allowed to.

My house in England was much simpler, it was small. Only a living room with a simple tv, kitchen, bathroom to share, my bedroom and my parents bedroom. It felt comforting there, in Australia it just feels like I'm a visitor, that I can't touch anything.

I grabbed myself some breakfast, cleaned up the mess and ran back upstairs. I could feel myself smiling just thinking about hanging out with Jai today until I heard shouting.

"Stop running around Shannon!!"

Even that couldn't burst my bubble and ruin my happiness. I quickly closed my door and jumped onto my bed with my phone. I had played it cool for too long now and I'm too excited to hold back.

'Hey Jai :) sure I will see you then, it's a date!'

I had already pressed send when I realised what I had just said. It wasn't even a date, we are just hanging out. I've ruined everything, he's going to think I'm too clingy! I pressed every button on my phone to try to stop it sending but it was too late, then he replied. That was quick!

'so it's a date? alright then, dress nicely beautiful ;)'

Ahh it's ok, I didn't scare Jai off.

I pulled open the doors to my wardrobe and my heart sank when I realised I have absolutely nothing to wear. It's filled with clothes but nothing I like, nothing Jai will like. There was only one thing to do, I turned on my laptop and logged into my twitter.

'I have a crisis! what do I wear to a date at the park with a gorgeous boy?!'

Within minutes my best friend Ellie had replied. Me and Ellie have been best friends since we were 6, I hate that she lives in England still, we are so far away!

So I looked through my wardrobe, got dressed and headed for the door. I didn't need to say where I was going, they don't show any interest in where I go or when I will be back so I walked out and headed for the park to meet Jai.
