RORY LIKED TO lie about the fact that she wasn't afraid of heights. But, in reality, she was bloody fucking terrified. Just the thought of her body smashing against a concrete floor of some random street up in London made her blood run cold. What more, when she had to do it in the hands of the sadistic Merlin.

Of course, she'd already gone skydiving at least twice in her life. Both times were equally fine — naturally, she's an adrenaline junkie and when in the right hands, she felt invulnerable. She didn't feel nauseated, or queasy, like now. She didn't have the sudden urge to hurl out the bile that was rising up in her throat, like a snake, like now. She didn't feel like jumping into Eggsy's arms with all her might and climb him, like now.
In fact, she would feel the opposite. Even though she fucking hated heights, skydiving would make her feel alive. Sure, she was plummeting to her death, and perhaps there was something sinister waiting for her at the bottom of the flight. But for a moment, just a moment, she felt free in the sky.
