(Ninten x Reader) Asthma buddies

I slowly walk in the gym and walk into the locker rooms to change into my maroon shorts and black long sleeve shirt. I put on my tennis shoes and step out of the locker room and walk up to my coach.

"Hey Coach, what are we going to do today?" I asked. The coach looked down at me and smiled.

"Hey (Y/n)! We are going to do some dodgeball! Hope you're up for it!" She said as she gave me a thumbs up.

Aww dang it! I was hoping that maybe I didn't have to do much today in P.E. but I guess not. Hopefully my asthma doesn't get too out of hand. It was about 5 minutes till the class starts so I decided to play on my phone on the bleachers for a bit.

I hear the whistle and put my phone up.

"Alright class listen up! We are going to play dodgeball! Now here are the teams. Red team is Claus, Paula, Porky, Travis and Jeff. Blue team is Lucas, Anna, Ness, Ninten and (Y/n). Simple as that! Now let's get moving!"

I run up to Ness and high five him cause well, he's the closest friend I got in this class.

"Awesome we're in the same team again! Oooooh~ Looks like Anna and Ninten are at it again!" Said ness. I look at him and tilt my head like a confused dog.

"What do you mean, 'at it again'?" I asked.

"Well, i just play around, I mean look at them! They have been friends for a long time. They are totally gonna be a couple soon! They were made for each other!" He said as his eyes sparkle. I slightly frowned and looked at the raven haired boy with the bandana, talking to Anna and laughing.

I let out a sigh. "Yep, they were made for each other..." Ness noticed my mini depression and puts his hand on my shoulder.

"What's wrong? Are you nervous about the game?" He asked with sympathy in his voice. I slowly nod. It wasn't the problem though.

I've had a crush on Ninten for about 6 months and told nobody. I want to tell Ness but he's the type who accidentally spills the beans in certain times.

"It's okay! Just stay in the back and your best friend will protect you!" He said. I managed to smile and let out a giggle. We go in our positions and the coach places the 5 balls in the middle of the gym.

"Ready....set....GO!" She blows the whistle and everybody runs for the balls. I somehow end up grabbing one right before Porky did. He sticks his tongue out and runs off. I shake my head and look for a target. I decided to get Porky for revenge.

He seemed to be doing some evil plot? I dunno, he just has a smirk and was rubbing his hands together like one of those crazy scientists. I throw the ball in his direction.

"Porky, watch out!" Yelled Travis as he tried to throw a ball at me. I quickly dodge it. Dang he's good. I almost got hit my that one....

"Huh?" Porky then gets hit in the arm by the ball I just threw. "He that's not fair!! I demand a second try!!" He whined.

"Porky you're out!" Said the coach. Porky stomped to the bleachers and sat down with his arms crossed like a little 5 year old.

"Good job (y/n)!" I heard some one yell behind me. I turn around and my heart fluttered. Ninten's smile just warmed me up. I smile and continue playing the game.

5 minutes into the game it was Claus, Paula and Travis versus Me and Ninten. They're all so good! I kept on trying to get Paula but dang she was fast. How did I end up being only with Ninten? I was so scared, i don't want to mess this game up for him.

More balls started coming our way and i dodged them. Almost everybody was aiming for me, what did i do to deserve this? I was trying so desperately hard to dodge them. I fell on my knees and started to have trouble breathing. I was wheezing and taking quick breaths. Ninten noticed this and dropped his ball.

"Time out!" He called. He ran over to me and kneeled down. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"

I looked up to see his face full of worry.

"I need.....my inhaler...It's in my locker....room..."

That was all I managed to say before getting into a coughing fit.

"Dang it, I can't go into the locker room...it's too far...." He mumbled. He runs to his backpack and pulls out a yellow inhaler, similar to mine. He quickly runs back and hands it to me. I hesitantly put it in my mouth and press the top, making the medicine spray in my mouth. I inhale it and calm down. I take one more puff and smile.

Did I just have an indirect kiss with Ninten?

"Are you okay now?" His voice interrupted my thoughts. I stand up and hand him his inhaler back. I slowly nod.

"Th-Thank you..." I said. I can feel my face heating up.

"You had me worried! I almost ended up having an asthma attack too if you ended up passing out! S-Sorry about not getting YOUR inhaler, it was the quickest way to help you." He said as his cheeks turned rosy read. I waved it off.

"No, it's fine. I don't know how to pay you back though..." I said as i looked to my right.

"Nah it's fine you don't have to pay me back! Let's just finish this game, i know we can do it!" He said with a toothy grin. I smile and nod.

The coach notices that we were ready and blows the whistle. The game starts again.

About 5 five more minutes into the game, it was just me and Travis. I was nervous. I'm pretty sure that everyone watching me.

Travis quickly threw the ball in my direction, i want to catch it but i know I'll fail so i quickly dodge it. The pattern of balls going back and forth and dodging them are getting pretty annoying. I guess I'll just take the leap of faith.

As Travis picks up a ball, i get into a position that will hopefully help me catch. Travis quickly throws it. I put my hands in front of me so it doesn't hit my face. I squint my eyes waiting for the impact.

I feel something hard yet bouncy hit my hands i try desperately to grip on it. The impact made me stumble a bit. As I regain my balance i find the ball in my hand.

"I caught it...." I said to myself. Everybody on my team ran up to me.

"Good job (y/n)!! I knew you could do it from the very beginning!" Said Ninten as he gave me a tight hug.

My stomach had a swarm of butterflies. He was so sudden. The rest of the team was telling me on how good I was.

Time skip.....

I walk out of the locker room and see Ninten waiting for someone. He notices me and smiles.

"Hey there! Is your asthma doing alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's doing good! So, you have asthma too?" Ninten nodded and took out his inhaler.

"Yep! I usually take it before and after P.E. so I don't get any attacks." He said. Then took a puff.

"Oops. I forgot to clean it after you used it. I guess you can say we kissed huh?" He said as he blushed.

"I guess so." I said and giggled.

"Let's be asthma buddies! I wanna get to know you cause ya know, you're cute!" He said.

That that moment, i was gonna faint.

"Sure I'd like that!"
