We spent Saturday night watching DVD's and playing the playstation. Tom and Diana arrived back home at seven and Diana got her stuff together and was gone by seven thirty. We all slept in the lounge room and slept in till about eleven. Ellie and I helped Tom get his stuff ready for his two nights at my house, while Chad and Junior were again parked in front of the playstation.
Tom and Junior stayed over at my house for the next two nights and we had loads of fun. Before no time Tuesday came and with it the semi formal.
My dream about the semi formal was for it to be a night of laughing, dancing, bad singing and classic songs. But my semi formal turns out to be slightly different. Mum and Dad drove Diana, Junior and I to the semi and Chad and Ellie came together to. We meet each other outside and walk into together. The first thing we do is pick a table to sit at. Chad and Junior picked seats with Mike, some other of their footy teammates and some of Ellie's old friends.
We eat, we dance and we sing along with the music. Everything is magical, until one of my nightmares happens in real life. Ellie and I are dancing while our dates are sitting on their butts. Ellie and I are having so much fun and I accidently bumped into Amanda one of Ellie old friends and Mike's date. Amanda totally overreacts.
"Freak!" she shouts at the top of her lungs, "how dare you even touch me"
"Amanda, leave her alone she didn't mean it" Ellie retaliates.
"You're just as much as a freak," Amanda snaps, "the only reason you're still popular without us is because of Chad. You're lucky he likes you because otherwise you'd be losing everything."
"How can you say that? Everyone likes Ellie no one likes you, without her you're nothing" I say angrily.
Before I could figure out what was happening the front of my dress is wet, my fringe is flopping and my mascara is running. Junior immediately jumps to my side. I having no idea what else I could do, I cry.
Ellie rushes me to the bathroom. "Jay, it will be ok"
"How could she do that?"
I stand under the hand dryer while Ellie redoes my make-up from the stock she has in her handbag. We dry my fringe under the hand dryer to. Ellie and I stand in the bathroom with me still choking back tears while she rubs my arm.
An announcement comes over the speaker in the bathroom, which make Ellie and I jump.
"Time for partner dancing!"
"We better get out there for Chad and Junior" Ellie say.
The two of us walk out together. We look across and dance floor and both of us see our boys with someone else. Junior has Amanda firmly wrapped around him and Chad has another blonde Barbie doll cuddling him.
"Junior!" I call out as we walk through the crowd towards our boys.
Amanda seems to stand guard around Junior. But Junior steps out of Amanda's hold and walks over to me. He pulls me into him claiming my lips. Ellie runs over to Chad and jumps on him wrapping her legs around his waist. Amanda and the Barbie doll didn't seem too happy as they stomped away.
Our night was saved Junior, Chad, Ellie and I dance together all night and have one rocking time at the post semi party.
The last day of school is that Friday it came just as quickly as the semi had. Not only is it the last day of school but also the day of the footy grand final. Junior and Chad are now co-captains and of course Ellie and I were Cheerleading co-captains too. The game is brilliant the whole school turned out watch. It was in the last five minutes that the whole team worked together and scored the winning try.
The games over and they'd won. Rosewood High had won the final! Junior and Chad look so, so, so happy. Chad begins to run over to us however Junior stayed in the middle of the footy field. That's when I notice it. He is holding a microphone. Then the backing music to "All I want for Christmas is you" starts. Oh my god!
"What is he doing?" I shout at Chad. Why did I ask?
"It was his idea" Chad says hugging us. It is then I watch Junior make a fool out of himself for me. Just like my Heath Ledger fantasy.
In that moment I realise all of my dreams had come true. I am popular, I have a best friend, I have a boyfriend who is hot as and I am happy.
"You know what" I say turning to Ellie, "this is going to be the best summer ever"
"Jay, I think you're right."
