Jayleigh Whitmore has been Invisible all the way through school. In one day that all changes when she comforts Ellie Hart, the most popular girl in school. Jayleigh is walking her dog Bella in the dog park when she meet Oscar and his adorable owner...
Stuart has a girl firmly attached to his arm who is giggling constantly.
"Oh Maddie this is my ex – girlfriend, Ellie" Stuart says and out of the corner of my eye I see Chad move in front of Ellie.
Ellie steps out from behind Chad.
"When exactly were we going out?" Ellie says in her mean voice. Popular Ellie was back forgetting everything she had jut been saying about Stuart, "Care to fill me in 'cause I would love to add it to my autobiography."
I have to hold back my laughter. Stuart look like he had swallowed a toad and Maddie has stopped her constant giggle. Stuart finds himself again.
"What caused the change of heart Elle? Only one month ago you hated your semi date"
"I don't hate anyone Stuart not even you" Ellie says and pushes past him to get on the bus, we follow closely behind.
"She may not hate you, but I do" Chad sneers as the bus door slid shut. All the way home I can't help thinking that Stuart wasn't quite letting go.
"Hey Jay, it is just me and Tom tonight you wanna sleepover?" Junior say casually, "you guys can too if you want"
"You sure mate?" Chad says looking from Junior to me, "That'd be great but I'll just have to get my stuff from Ellie's"
"Well Jay and I will meet you guys back at my place"
We say goodbye to Ellie and Chad was we get off the bus and walk back to my place so I can get my stuff.
"Let me see" mum says grinning as we step through the front door. I pull my semi dress out of its bag, Junior follows pulling his tux and tie out the bag he was carrying.
"What do you think?" I say it holding it up against myself and spinning around.
"Oh....it's gorgeous... and very handsome" she adds nodding to Junior.
"Mum I'm going to Junior's tonight so I will see you tomorrow," I say grabbing my stuff from the lounge room and putting my shopping bags on the couch.
"Ok, can you please ask Diana what time Tom is coming over tomorrow? I can't quite remember what she said"
"Sure mum, whatever"
We walk outside and down the street.
"Does that mean your brother is staying at my house?"
"I dunno maybe mum is working or something" Junior replies with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Jay stop!" I turn. Mum and Bella are coming up behind us, "Sweetie would you take Bella? She hasn't seen Oscar in a while"
"Ok mum," I grab the lead, kissed mum on the cheek and continue walking.
"Oi guys" we hear a voice from across the road. We turn to see Ellie and Chad running to catch up with us.
"Hello Bella," Ellie says patting her, "Oh Jay can I walk her please?"
"Sure" I answer handing her the lead and the two run ahead happily.
The five of us, including Bella, arrive at Junior's. We head straight inside while Ellie takes Bella round the back to play with Oscar.
We walk into the kitchen where Diana is pacing and Tom has his backside sticking out of the fridge.
"Oh you're back how did the shopping go? Show me, show me" Diana says as she stops pacing and turns to Junior.
Junior shows his mum his tux and tie and Ellie and I explained our dresses.
"Excellent, you will all look stunning," she says. She then looks back at the fridge to Tom's backside still poking out of the fridge, "Thomas just pick what you want. One, we need to shut the fridge and Two we need to get you to soccer practice... Junior I'm going to take Tom to soccer, duck into the office and pick Tom up and drop him home. You and your friends can order pizza or make what you want there is some money on the counter. I have to catch a plane tonight to Brisbane for business...'
'Oh Diana mum wanted to know what time Tom would be coming over tomorrow'
'Oh of course yes well the business trip will last a few days so your mum say she would look after Junior and Tom... Tom put it on a plate, in the car quick! I'll call your mum Jay...Have fun tonight" Diana finishes speaking, kisses Junior on the cheek and rushes out of the room. Tom hugs me and Ellie saying "hi" before following his mum out of the house.
Junior moves around the kitchen and stop in front of the now closed fridge. "Trust mum she gives you a lecture before she goes but still leaves like ten notes" Junior is right the fridge is covered in post-it notes.
"Hey Chad you wanna go play the playstation?" Junior asks walking in to the lounge room.
"Yeah man, cool" Chad replies.
Ellie and I stay in the kitchen reading one of the post-it notes;
Junior,
There are some salad ingredients and party pies and sausage rolls
- heat the oven to 180 degrees
- make a salad in the bowl sitting on the bench
- there is new tomato sauce and bbq sauce in the cupboard

Ellie grabs the post-it note off the fridge and walks into the lounge, "How do you guys feel about party pies and sausage rolls?"
"Great!" Junior and Chad say together.
