I woke up to the sound of servants scrambling around the kitchen, preparing breakfast and for the day ahead. With snow falling and the grizzly bear named Maxon still sleeping next to me I quietly wake up and walk into the living room.

The room is huge with a ginormous fireplace at its center that shows carvings of the forest and woodland creatures that surround us outside. Maxon really out done himself with finding this place. I couldn't believe that this was my life now. Everything bigger and fancier then it needs to be. Lost in my morning thoughts I didn't even hear Mary ask if I wanted tea until she gently tapped my shoulder and continued asking "Your Majesty, are you alright?" I replied with a quiet "yes". Although I had this unsteady feeling for some weird reason but I just pushed it aside because it took us almost a year to get here and I didn't want anything negative ruining this trip. I took one more look at the magical room and one more sip of the tea Mary brought me and went to wake up Maxon for an adventurous day of skiing.

We head out to the mountain. There's plenty of security because it's a public mountain but the amount of ski gear we're wearing we look like normal tourists. We first go to the shed to get fitted for skis. That's where we find Aspen, Lucy, Marlee, and Carter.

"Hey!" I exclaim.

"Hey beauty," Marlee walks up to me and gives me a friendly kiss on the cheek, "how are you?"

"I'm okay, are you excited?" I give her an over exaggerated smile. I'm not too excited considering I've never done it before. I'm very much uncoordinated and a total flop.

"We're about to head out to the blue square, do you and Maxon want to go?"

"Um, I'll pass right now, but have fun and be safe!" I hugged her and the group left.

Maxon and I begin walking from the shed and then we meet my enemy, ice. I turn into someone trying to break dance while trying to walk on this path. Then I feel hard hands grip my shoulders, Maxon's staring me in the face laughing uncontrollably.

"I'm a Southern girl, I'm sorry!" I yell while laughing.

"You're cute," he says as he puts his arm out for me to hold, "m'lady."

"So courteous."

I'm at the top of the bunny hill. The stupid bunny hill.

Maxon's next to me and can tell how nervous I am. I take deep breaths. I do not like the feeling of constant slipping. "It will be okay," he tells me reassuringly.

There's two year old's next to me going perfectly down the hill. I can do this. Just remember the pizza method to stop.

I let myself go down. I'm not doing that badly, I'm pretty balanced. But now I have to stop, this is where the problem comes in, I'm doing the stupid pizza method but it's not working!

So I don't hit the net at the end I just fall to the ground in an attempt to stop myself. It works and I see Maxon effortlessly glide down the hill, "Are you okay, my dear?"

"Fine," I say as he helps me up. "This is why I don't ski." I say jokingly.

"You were doing so well though. But it's okay, I was like that on my first try too."

"How old were you?" I ask inquisitively.

"Three."

"Oh my goodness, bye!" We both laugh.

"Is it okay for me to go down the black diamond?" Maxon asks.

"Of course, I'll watch you from the bottom." He kisses me and departs to the ski lift.

I've been waiting for Maxon to come down the hill for 20 minutes now. I don't know how any one could go down this, it's huge and I couldn't even go down the bunny hill which is nothing compared to this. I started kicking the snow around waiting for Maxon's arrival until I finally saw him speeding down the slope.

He looks like a professional skierdown that hill, he really does amaze me.

Then I looked a bit closer at him coming down.

He was going very fast, much faster then all of the others around him. He kept swerving around people and started doing twists and losing a bit of balance every few seconds.

That unsteady feeling came back from this morning. What if he can't stop? What if he gets hurt? There was nothing I could do and that scares me.

He kept on swerving and couldn't keep steady. I saw his foot start coming out of one of the ski and I gasped.

Right in that very moment he starts tumbling down the rest of the hill and I couldn't believe my eyes.

A big gust of wind starts blowing snow everywhere and blocks my view of him.

He looked almost dead, laying there on the ground. I was frozen, I just stood there in shock. I tried running to him but my body felt so heavy and like I couldn't get to him quick enough.

I get to him and start taking some off his gear while saying "Maxon wake up, come on wake up," and then

he smiles.

He ...

smiles and says "got you."

I slap him, really hard, "You jerk!" I run off. By now I was crying, trying to run but my feet kept getting stuck in the snow.

I feel myself being lifted up by someone. Maxon whispers lightly into my ear, "I learned how to ski on one leg at the age of three as well."

Even though I'm very angry at him I can't help but release a small giggle.
