A few days went by and it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful cabin. Although I was sad to leave the cabin I'm glad I don't have to keep busting my ass trying to ski down that stupid bunny hill.
I made Maxon apologize a lot before I finally forgave him for what he did. I could tell he was really sorry.

In the airport we said goodbye to Carter, Marlee and Aspen as we went our separate ways.
I'm very excited to finally be alone with Maxon for the rest of our honeymoon besides all the servants, although I'm a little nervous about visiting my old home in Carolina. I haven't been back since the Selection and some many things have changed since then it might to overwhelming. I'm afraid to tell Maxon that because he's so excited to finally see a part of my past and how I came to be the person I am today.

"Please buckle up, we should be landing shortly"
I buckled my seatbelt and then doubled checked to make sure it was fastened correctly. We had been on the plane for five hours. I look over to see Maxon sleeping so I gently put his seat belt on too.
I look out the window and we're just close enough where I can start seeing my old home. The place where I grew up, where I have my last memories of my sister and father, where I loved Aspen...
I push that thought away, I want this to be happy and just about me showing Maxon one of my favorite places.

The plane door didn't even have to open to hear all of the voices chanting and screaming our names. I take Maxon's hand and squeeze tightly so he can't let go.
The sunlight blinds me a little when the door opens and then everything comes into focus. It looks like the whole town came to see our arrival.
The mayor comes and greets me, "Your majesty, it's great to see you again after all these years! If I you need anything on your short visit, please don't be hesitant to ask!" I replied with a "thank you" and kept walking.
There were so many unfamiliar faces but also a few that I still remember. The cheering kept getting louder and I really wanted to get to the car and start showing Maxon around.
There were many signs that read "WELCOME HOME" and "NICE TO HAVE YOU BACK." So many smiling faces, I couldn't contain my happiness as I started giddily smiling and waving to everyone.
Maxon took me in hand through the rest of the crowd to the car. This is a short, one day stay.

As we roll through the streets we pass the building where I took my picture and sent in my application to be in the selection. Funny how then I despised the very thought of being in the selection. The selection brought me and my true love together.
Pretty soon we pass my old home. So many memories, sadly we can't stop and go inside because there are massive crowds surrounding the premises. But as I look through the car window I can see that old treehouse. Thank goodness Aspen went back to the palace.
I feel a bit of cringe thinking back to all that has happened in that treehouse. Thinking my love is Aspen and we should be married and I would be the provider. Oh how wrong I was.
Maxon looks at me, "What are you thinking?"
I smile, "Just be glad my mother forced me to enter the selection."
Send me some fan art! I might feature some...
