The photo above is of the main character Faith.
He'd beaten her over and over again. There was no return of her original aesthetic.
"Had enough yet?" He spoke grim with a sly smile on his face. She looked up at him while holding her stomach in which he had bruised over and over again. Her body had swelled in ways she didn't think possible. This torture had been going on for days, weeks maybe. Many times he came into that little dark room where she feared what was to happen to her. Though this time, she didn't look at him with fear, like she had many times before. This time she looked at him with a fire in her eyes, and a strength behind her voice, "You've already put me through hell. So give it your best shot. Not only will I survive, but I will win."
He looked at her with surprise concealing the anger that she had answered with such a confidence. Regaining himself he responded, "That'll change soon. You won't survive, just like your mother couldn't." He did it. He mentioned her mother.
The one reason she was here, why he had caught her. She just wanted to find her mom's killer, and it seemed that that day had come. She had figured it out a while ago, the type of bruises she was gaining were consistent with the bruises on her mothers autopsy report, but hearing him admit it, it shocked her. She felt a knot in the back of her throat, feeling tears on the verge of escaping her eyes.
No, do not cry. It isn't worth it. He isn't worth it. She looked around trying to avoid eye contact with him because only that could make it worse.
"What's wrong Faith? Forget that it was me? That that was your whole reason for hunting me down. For risking your life, and the ones around you. All to find out that I beat her till she begged for death, not even able to fight back, unable to think about the child she left behind or her lover."
He could tell he was getting to Faith. There were tears silently rolling down her face.
"She didn't even care about you." He continued to pester. "She just wanted her suffering to end. I killed her because she begged for it. She craved her ending. Just like I am going to make you crave yours. By your end, you won't care about that fiancé that you left in Ryannt, you'll be so focused on wanting it all to end that you will forget about him," he grinned, "Just like your mother did to you Faith. Oh, but don't worry,"
He bent down and folded a hair behind her ear leaving her with a feeling of disgust. "I'll give you the same ending that your mother was given Faith. When she finally begged for her timely ending, that is exactly what I gave her. See,"
He revealed a rusty switch blade from his pocket, that had dried blood on it. "I'll take this knife. The same I used on your mother, and I'll slice your throat. Then and only then will you be free of this hell." He chuckled to himself.
His words of defeat were strong, but fuck that, My name is Faith Montgomery Oscar, and I'll be damned if I'm going to let this son of a bitch be the end of me. My name means to have hope in the unexpected, so why am I giving up? I am an Oscar, divine strength is in my blood. Faith glared up at him. I'm not letting you win. Not now, nor ever.
"You know what Diomedes? You're a dick." Diomedes smiled no longer, now gaining an interested look on his face, intrigued to know what the worthless piece of scum that lied before him was to say to him, when he had all the power.
"And I'll be damned if I let a dick like you control my emotions and my strengths. I'm not frightened by you. Yea, you killed my mom, and I swear to god by any means necessary I will make you pay for that. However I will never let you steal my freedom. So put that knife away or use it now, but I will never beg for death."
With Faith's final words of reassurance to Diomedes, her entire being shook. Her anger for being attempted to be beat into submission was showing through. Those firey blue eyes couldn't hide it any longer. With all the strength she could manage she grabbed the knife from Diomedes hands. She could do this, she just needed to slice an artery and it would all be over.
She went for the gab towards his carotid, with this stab his neck would bleed out relentlessly. Diomedes was hit, but before Faith could inflict real damage, he grabbed her arm and twisted it back. Defeat.
Faith had failed in her attempt. Switching the blade back into its case, he put it in his pocket, all while holding Faiths arm behind her back, keeping her from moving. He sneered in his triumph, kicking her back against the wall.
Going at it again. Beating her until she was nearly unconscious. Finding it humorous that they were back where they started.
However, not everything was the same. With a new mark on his neck, he felt an urge to remind her once more who controlled her hell. He bent down towards her head, wrapped his fingers in her hair then pulled her close as well as to expose her neck.
Faith could feel his breath on her neck as he kissed her neck. Eww. Your making me nauseous. After kissing her on the neck multiple times he bit her. Leaving a new mark on her as well.
"We are not done yet." He whispered with a desire in his voice. And with that, he released her from his grip and left the room. Locking the door behind him.
You're right Diomedes. It's not done yet.
