My foot tapped anxiously, as I waited outside the glee club room. Mr. Schue and the glee club were already inside, but Mr. Schue told me to wait and hide outside the classroom until he introduced me and another new member. The instructions he gave me were confusing, but I went with it.

Today was going to be my first day of being apart of New Directions, I was very excited but nervous. This team was obviously as not professional as Vocal Adrenaline but I'm okay with it. It's nice to try something new.

"Oh, hey are you apart of New Directions?" Someone asked from behind me. I turned around to face a tall boy with shaggy blonde hair.

"Yeah, I'm a new addition. I'm assuming you are too?" I questioned, I never saw this boy's face at my audition.

"Yep." He popped the 'p'. "I'm Sam Evans."

"Arabella W." I nodded towards him. "My last name is uh- too hard to pronounce."

Before Sam and I could finish our conversation, Mr. Schue's loud voice brought our attention to him.

"Welcome our new glee club members, Sam Evans and Arabella W!" Mr. Schue announced to New Directions, loudly.

"Follow my lead." I nudged Sam.

We both walked into the classroom. I grinned as I looked towards my new friends, and just a little more when my eyes met Mike's.

"I'm Sam, Sam I am." Sam introduced. "And I don't like green eggs and ham."

"And I'm Arabella, as you all know by now but I'm going to introduce myself anyways." I smiled.

We both found seats and began listening to Mr. Schue's lesson.

Mr. Schue grabbed a white board marker and wrote down boldly, 'DUET' on the board.

"What's a duet?" He asked.

"A blanket." Britney responded, unaware that she meant 'duvet'.

Mr. Schue began to talk on and on my how we were going to sing duets as a competition this week but all I could think about was dancing with Mike. That would be the perfect duet, and we would crush the competition. But then as I glanced towards Mike, reality struck me that he had Tina; his girlfriend.

"What's the winner get?" Mike asked Mr. Schue, interrupting my thoughts.

"Dinner for two, on me - at Breadsticks." He grinned. The whole glee club erupted with murmurs. Breadsticks was the best restaurant in Lima, and I would be pretty jealous of the competition winner.

We all broke up and discussed our partners, I ended up singing with Kurt.

"I want the song we perform to show off both of our strengths equally." I thought out loud to him.

"I think Sam's gay," Kurt wondered out loud too. "No straight boy dyes his hair to look like Linda Evangelista circa 1993."

"You're crazy, circa 2010." I corrected him. "But I doubt it, if he was I wouldn't mind though."

"I wanted to be his partner," He frowned. "But he's already talking to Quinn. I'm glad I'm with you though but I just want to talk to him."

"Well, how about you try talking to him sometime after school or in between classes?" I suggested. "You guys would be a cute couple, if he's gay."

"I'll try. Speaking of couple, how's Zach and you?" Kurt asked curiously.

"We're ignoring each other right now, it's complicated." I sighed. "I think I'm going to call him after school or something. I miss him."

"Okay." Kurt hummed, hiding his feelings back. It was obvious Kurt didn't like Zach one bit. "Well, we should probably research on a song we can do. I want breadsticks."

"Same." I giggled, pulling out my phone.
