(A/N: sooo my dumbass just realized i wrote the previous chapter in third person when the rest of the book was in first? i'm so sorry LOL i guess that's a consequence from not writing after 2 years... i'm gonna keep it in third person tho because i prefer it more!)

Arabella stood at Kurt's front porch; right as she was about to knock, Kurt opened the door furiously.

"It took you long enough! Come in, my dad took an overnight so we got the house to ourselves." He said, welcoming her in.

Arabella entered the house and a sweet aroma filled her nose and she gasped, "Are you baking something?"

She took her shoes off at the doorway, and plopped herself down on Kurt's living room couch. The house was small but definitely cozy and she loved it.

"I made cookies; I need to stress eat or else I'm gonna go insane." Kurt groaned, he held a plate full of cookies towards Arabella and she took two, followed by a 'thank you very much kind sir'.

"Shpeak to me. What's on ya mind, Hummel." Arabella spoke, with a mouthful of freshly baked cookies. Kurt sat beside her on the couch.

"Finn told me that I'm being weird with Sam and I have to leave him alone, and my dad sided with him! Why can't I be friendly without it seeming predatory, like sorry I'm gay? Can I not have crushes too? God." He sighed with aggravation. "It's so hard being the only openly gay kid at school, I'm probably the only gay kid in this entire town."

Arabella devoured the rest of the cookies she had as quickly as possible so that she could respond to Kurt, which made them laugh.

"I'm sorry, Kurt. I don't understand either. I say, shoot your shot with Sam. You never know until you try. What if he's closeted and needs someone to help him open up?"

"I wish this wasn't so hard." He muttered, looking down at his hands. "You're the only person telling me that; maybe I should just leave him alone. I don't know."

"Go with your gut feeling. Not trying to brag or anything but I'm usually like.... always right. I feel like I have good intuition." Arabella teased, and stood up. "Let's take our minds off this, I have an idea."

"Cry to Adele?"

"What? No, practice our duet performance which is tomorrow. Did you forget?" Arabella gasped.

"I might've... Oops?" Kurt smiled sheepishly.

Today was the day; duets were being performed. Arabella and Kurt were extremely anxious but knew they would do great, considering they stayed up until 2:00 a.m. practising (perhaps, it was the cookies that made them stay up).

Arabella, Kurt , Artie and Mercedes all sat together in the choir room doing vocal warm-ups,

"Me me me me me me me me......." They all sang in harmony. "Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah-"

"CRAP!" Arabella cursed, interrupting the practice.

"Arabella!" They all whined.

"Sorry, I just realised I left my phone in my locker. I'll be back, you guys can continue without me." Arabella apologized, and left the choir room.

She walked down the hallway and quickly found her locker, finding her way around McKinley was actually surprisingly easy considering it was a way smaller school than Carmel. She quickly grabbed her phone.

"All we ever do is get dim-sum with your mom, I'm tired of it. It's lame. We need to win this competition so we can have a date by ourselves for once, please Mikey-poo." A voice further down the hallway whined. There was no one else in the hallway since it was the end of the day. She shifted her view and slowly got closer to see who it was; it was Mike and Tina.
