My little girl,
With dandelion dust on her nose.
Come here, let me tell you something new.
Your legs have fuzz to keep you warm;
You're a teddy bear now!
Shh it's a secret.
My little baby,
With buttercup yellow staining your chin,
You are beautiful... & strong & powerful & loved.
You are smart. & you will be kind.
Mommy will help you.
My sweet child,
With flowers in your hands
I haven't been the best to you,
Although I have tried.
I want to raise you in the ways of femininity & strength.
I want you to carve your own path.
My 3 year old girl,
With pansies in your hair,
I want you to know I love you.
You make me proud.
I know you don't understand yet silly girl,
But mommy is always here.
My silly girl,
With tulips under your feet.
Let's pick flowers,
& I'll teach you their names.
I'll teach you & you'll grow.
You'll be the most beautiful flower of all.

Healing Through Poetry
PoetryA collection of poems I've written over the past two years... they may not be 100% in order; I apologize. There are poems about abuse & sexual assault but I will put trigger warnings in front of those. These are poems about my life.
