" what was that, little girl? I can't quite hear you from down there. " He teased, it made me want to kill him even more than before.

" Victoria! Where are you? " I could hear Dallas's voice in the distance, I knew my killer could hear it too. Dallas's quiet footsteps grew closer and closer, it sounded like he was running. My attacker grinned and let out a subtle laugh " I end you at the next transmitter, either way. Your going to die today. "

He walked into the mist and out of sight, I let out a long sigh. Thank god Dallas, always comes at the right time. But there was something a little weird about that, why does the other assassin always run when Dallas comes. Even though this was only the second time, it was already starting to make a pattern. I sucked in my breath hard and stood up, hobbling to a near by tree, then the next and the next till I was back at the bench were Dallas had left me. I put my hand on my leg and held the gash closed, it hurt like crazy but at least it was healing.

Dallas quickly arrived at the scene and I wasn't surprised by his reaction to the blood dripping onto the ground.

" what happened?! " he croaked, his eyes were wide with fear.

" just a little run-in that's all " I tried to make it sound innocent as possible.

" with who, a wild dog? "

" no! Just the other assassin. Do I really look that bad, it's just a little gash. "

He really just stood there and tried to process everything.

" did you get a look at his face? " Dallas questioned

" not at all! " I whined at him.

Dallas took both of my hands and helped me stand up, we walked ( more like he walked, I limped ) to the next transmitter.

" hey, Victoria. Remember when my dad stabbed you back then? "

I paused for a moment before walking again " how could I forget. "

" what did it feel like? " he kept talking

" what do you mean. It hurt. Like hell. " did he want me to describe the pain I felt.

" I have a question to ask you, all those years ago. When you were told to stab me, why didn't you? "

He didn't say anything, I was wondering if he was actually going to say anything. Maybe, it would reveal something.

" I was scared, I knew you if you actually lived you would try to get them back. "

" of course I would get them back, they killed my family! All I ever wanted was to live like a normal person! " I started to get a little riled up. " I never wanted to be Victoria de Antoinette! I never wanted my family to die, I never even wanted these powers! "

I was finally letting out my emotions to someone, finally after all this time. But after my little emotionally rant it became incredibly quiet and it stayed like that until we reached the next transmitter. We knew we were close because my nose started to bleed like a girl on her period, geez I wish I hadn't made that reference.

I leaned aganist something waited him to come back, my guard was high as a kite. The fog lightened just a little but it still wasn't enough to see in front of my own face.

I heard footsteps in the distance, I knew they were to heavy to be Dallas.

" you came back! I missed you! " I yelled to the appearing shadow

" wha? " It was Dallas's voice

From the fog appeared Dallas, why the fuck were his footsteps so heavy he was always so light on his feet.

" Dallas? Did you gain weight? Did you even destroy the transmitter? " I asked a series of questions

" I did not gain any weight in the last few seconds and yes, I did destroy it. "

If Dallas didn't gain any weight, whose footsteps were those. It only took me seconds to realize we weren't alone. I used the little power I had to enhance my vision, Dallas was standing a few feet away from me. Then standing a couple of inches away from Dallas was the other assassin.

" oh. my. god- " before I knew it the other assassin had thrown a dagger in my direction, it hit my arm. I screamed in pain, blood started to drip down to the ground immediately. We had to get away from the other as soon as possible, but how, he was standing right there; just a couple of feet away.

" Dallas! Move! " I yelled at him

He instantly jumped out of the way, I wanted to congratulate him on his agility. But we had another problem going on here.

" What's happening Victoria! " Dallas yelled, he had moved deeper into the fog and could not see what was going on.

" The other assassin, he was standing right next to you. I can't tell where he is. "

I surved the area ad the next thing I knew the other assassin was gone, as fast as he came he was gone.

"....he's gone.....Dallas....."

" you okay? " he asked me, I could see his outline standing beside me.

" no.....I'm scared " He was way stronger than I had ever though he was and I was terrified because of it. He could kill me without even trying.

Dallas put an arm around my should and guided me close to him, we started walking.

" come on, I got you. Let's go to the next transmitter. "

Even though I felt safe, we were both far from safe. We were in the danger-zone.
