Chapter 7: Enough is enough

"Dante" I call as I kneel next to him, immediately notice the huge blood stain on his shirt "CALL 911" I shout as panic starts to take control of me "Love" Dante calls and I look at him "I fear I have come to my end" he says "No, you can't leave me, you can't leave Enzo, we just got you back, we have so much to share together, Dante, please, hold on for a little more, please, I beg you" I say as I cry "I love you, Ciara, I'm glad we got a family together, take care of Enzo" he says as he closes his eyes "Dante" I call as I slightly shake it him, but he doesn't respond "No" I whisper as I cry on his chest.

I watch the ambulance drive away with the barely alive of body of the love of my life. This is can't be happening to me, what have I done to deserve so much misery? How much I must suffer before I can truly be happy? I have not done anything wrong, I have never caused anyone any sort of damage, yet, here is all this miss fortune on me, on my family.

"Mrs. De Luca, I am Detective Jones, I am going to be investigating your husband's incident" a man says behind me, I turn to look at him "She is not Mrs. De Luca, I am" Jasmine says joining the detective and I, I look at her with hate "Okay, who are you then?" the detective asks "I am Ciara Belmont" I answer "And what relationship you have with Mr. De Luca?" he asks "She is his whore" Jasmine says and the detective looks at me "I don't hold a stable relationship with Dante, I am simply the mother of his child" I explain and he nods "Now you are going to deny that you sleep with my husband" Jasmine says "Mrs. De Luca, at this moment your husband love life is not important, what matters, is to find whoever shot your husband" the detective explains "Then you are talking to the right woman, because Jasmine De Luca was the one who ordered the execution of her husband" I say and the detective looks at her "How dare you? I would never do that, I love him, he is my husband, father of my child, unlike you, Ciara, you have motive, he is with me, and that makes your blood boil" she says "Are you sure you want to play like that?" I ask "Jealousy, you have a motive" Jasmine answers "Detective, this is what happened, our son, Lorenzo Dante De Luca is sick, he is hospitalized in the St. Mathew Hospital at the pediatric ICU, since our son is not going to be released anytime soon, we came to his hotel to rest, we woke up, came down to the restaurant to have breakfast, he received a call, went out to pick it up, she called, and left very clear that she wasn't going to allow Dante leaving her to be with me, if he wasn't with her, he wasn't going to be with me, and a few seconds later, he got shot" I say answering the detective's unasked questions.

Detective Jones looks at Jasmine "You are seriously not going to believe her, she is my husband's lover, she can't be trusted" she says "I can prove every word I said" I say, detective Jones looks at me "Call the hospital, ask for Lorenzo Dante De Luca, if you check the security cameras of the hotel they are going to prove that Dante and I got here together, that we staid in the same room together, ask for the hotel's records, the security cameras will also show that we entered the restaurant together, that we were having breakfast together, if you even check with Dante's lawyers they will tell you that he is divorcing her, before he started seeing me, and I don't know if you noticed, but Dante is a very wealthy man, if he dies, she and her son will inherit everything, so if someone has something to gain, is her" I say, detective Jones writes down "I'll corroborate all this things, but I have a very obvious question, why are you here, Mrs. De Luca?" detective Jones asks "Why you think? My husband's son is ill, now he is ill, I am here doing my job as his wife, be next to him, support him through this hard time" she answers "But Miss Belmont said that she spent the night with Mr. De Luca, you simply allowed that? Also, the ambulance took off a few minutes ago, why weren't you in it?" detective Jones asks "This is ridiculous, you should be seeking for who did this to my husband instead of making stupid questions" Jasmine answers "Answer the questions" Detective Jones demands "I have nothing  to say, if you want to talk to me, it will be through my lawyer" she says as she walks away.
