Chapter 11: Not there yet

"What if they do not find a cure?" I ask Dante as we watch our son through the glass "They will" Dante answers "But what if they don't?" I asks again "Ciara, the doctor said to not place yourself in stress, please stop worrying about something that is not going to happen" Dante says "The fact that you do not want to talk about it doesn't mean is not going to happen" I say and he sighs "I love Enzo and the idea of him dying is not welcome, so I do my best to stay positive and pray Dr. Riccardi finds a treatment" he says and I sigh "Come" Dante says as he grabs my hand, I look at him "It is time to take your mind off an ill son for a few minutes" he says, I nod as I take a good look at my soon.

I sigh as we start to walk away, what is on this man's mind?

"Do me favor and change into this" Dante says as he hands be a white box, I frown "Trust me" he says, I nod as I grab the box "Ciara" Dante calls and I look at him, he kisses me "I love you" he whispers at the end of the kiss, I smile "I love you too, Dante" I say and he smiles, I will waiting for you out here" he says and I nod as I enter to the bathroom.

I frown as I look at myself at the tiny mirror, Where Dante has planned to take me that requires me to wear such a beautiful and fancy  dress? I have not been released yet, so I can not leave the hospital premises, I guess, I have to exit the bathroom to find out. I am very grateful that my mother brought me a bag clothing, including my brushes and make up, because I will look good to whatever Dante has planned.

"Dad?" I call as I exit the bathroom "Hey, Sweetie" he greets and I frown "Did something happened? Where is Dante?" I ask as I get closer to my father, he grabs my hands "Everything is fine, Dante had to check on something and he asked me to accompany you to the salon" he answers and I frown even harder "Salon?" I ask "We all have been tense, nervous, worries, and anxious with this whole situation, Dante just organized a small dinner for us, so we can relax, have a nice time together, and try to disconnect a little from what's happening" he answers "Where did Dante found a Salon in this hospital?" I ask "Every floor has meeting room, just in case the doctor have to meet with the family of a patient in private, apparently, he knows the owner of the hospital and he used that resource to reserve it" Dad says and I shake my head, Dante truly wants us to have a good time and leave all this mess behind us.

Everybody stands up as Dad and I enter to the room, I frown "What's going on?" I ask "You are getting married" Dad answers and I look at him "The perfect way to get a little joy into our lives in such bitter moment" Dad adds as we walk closer to Dante.

"You said arrange everything, so I did" he says and I smile as I shake my head "Since everybody is here, let's get married" I say, Dante laughs "Let's do this your honor, before she changes her mind" Dad says and I roll my eyes to the heavens.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered here today to witness the union in marriage of Dante Lorenzo De Luca and Ciara Isabelle Belmont" the judge says as I grab Dante's hand "Marriage is not decision that it is taken lightly, but I am assuming I can skip this part of the speech" the judge says and we nod "Let's proceed, Mr. De Luca, do you take Miss Ciara Isabelle Belmont as your beloved wife to love, to protect, to cherish in sickness, in health, in rich, in poor, in tears, in happiness until death does you part?" I ask "I do" Dante says "Miss Belmont..." "I do" I answer, everybody laughs, and the judge looks at me "I have been waiting a lot to marry this man, I apologize for been so anxious" I say "Let's proceed" the judge says and we nod.

"The ring is circular, it doesn't have a begin, neither an end, that's how much your marriage, your love will last, wear them everyday, so you never forget how much you love each other, so you never forget your vows, as you put your rings on, say your vows, Miss Belmont, since you are crazy to marry Mr. De Luca, you begin" the judge says and I nod.
