Chapter 13

(Nicole's POV)

I could hear Ryanne's footsteps behind me as we descended down the stairs in the basement. I really didn't want to be doing this right now. It frustrated me beyond belief that Jason thought he could just put two girls in the same room and that they would instantly become best friends.

As I reached the bottom of the stairs I made my way over to the huge shelves of DVD's that Jason had. He said that he had all my favorites. We will see about that.

"What movie do you want to watch?" I asked Ryanne turning around to face her.

"It doesn't matter." She said a little too quickly. I forgot. I'm her boss's girlfriend. She will most likely do whatever it takes to please me. I turned back to the shelves and browsed all the different movies. Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids, Talladega Nights. I guess he did have a bunch of my favorites.

"How about 21 Jump Street?" I asked turning back around.

"Sure! I love that movie!" Ryanne said back. I turned to the DVD player and put the movie in. Then I made my way over to the couch and plopped myself between two giant pillows.

You have no idea how badly I want to tell Ryanne that I was kidnapped. I just wanted to scream it at her. But I knew that she worked for Jason and wouldn't help me. So I continued to pretend that I was completely comfortable sitting in his house and tried to pay attention to the opening credits of the movie.

(Jason's POV)

Butsy and I were sitting in the living room having a couple beers while half paying attention to the current hockey game. I couldn't help but keep wondering how Nicole was doing. I hope that she and Ryanne are getting along okay. I'm pretty sure they are watching a movie. Maybe that will help Nicole loosen up a bit.

"So....How is Nicole doing?" Butsy said turning his position on the couch to face me.

"I guess she's good. I had a little accident last night. I think she is just scared of me now." I said back. I cringed at the thought of choking her last night. How could I lose my control like that? I can't believe I would hurt her. I wish I could go back in time and make it all better. I just couldn't help it! I couldn't believe she would try and run away from me!

"Wait....What kind of accident?" Butsy said squinting his eyes slightly.

"She tried escaping! She ran into the woods! I couldn't control my anger! I just attacked her!" I said defending myself.

"Dude...what did you do?" Butsy said looking like he couldn't believe what I was telling him. That's okay. I wouldn't believe that I could hurt my Baby Girl like that either.

"I might have...slapped her around a bit. And then I choked her....with her hair." I said ashamed of myself.

"You do realize now it is going to take even longer for her to warm up to you right?" He said harshly. I usually would have hurt someone for talking to me like that but I knew I deserved it.

"I know. It hasn't really been that bad! Nicole is smart. I'm pretty sure that she has realized she isn't going to get her way no matter how much she argues." I said proud of how smart my baby is.

"I hope so man. You need all the luck you can get." Butsy said shaking his head while taking a swig of his beer before turning back to the TV.

(Nicole's POV)

"Have some fairy dust mother fucker." I quoted the movie laughing. Ryanne really isn't that bad. I guess we have been getting along. All that I know is that she is not as scary as Jason. Sure I know that she is in a gang and could probably kill me in 49 different ways with her bare hands. But she doesn't seem as intimidating.
