Lucy left Samantha the instant they got inside. Sam understood. She wasn't the party type, and Lucy was looking for a really hot guy that had told her he would be there. She wandered aimlessly, talking to girls and guys about whatever came up. She always refused drinks-on principle-and shortly left after she was offered. She was watching Lucy dance on the dancefloor while she was walking, and asa result, bumped into a very large guy.
"I"m sorry," she said as their eyes met, and then she froze. The man's eyes seemed to be literally made of bright orange fire. It moved and danced as the oxygen fanned it hotter and hotter. She fell in love with his eyes and wanted to watch them forever.
"I said, can I help you miss?" The large man broke her attention, and she apologized again. She blushed as he waved it off, then followed him a bit longer.
"Excuse me," She tugged on his black shirt and he turned around. "Um, I was wondering. Did you get your eyes like, dyed or something? They look really cool." The tall man burst out laughing.
"Wow! That's a first. You're really funny miss." He took her hand and led her to a corner where there were five more guys with his eyes sitting around a table. "Hey Luke!" He called. "this little girl asked if I dyed my eyes." the guys laughed, and she felt very insecure and embarrassed.
"Hey, Jake, that a good idea. We should die our eyes." One of the others said, and Sam felt better as he winked at her. They all agreed, and then the first guy got her attention.
"Hey miss, what's your favorite color, we'll dye our eyes whatever color you want." She smiled
"Green," she said, proud. "It matches my eyes." They all laughed, and she smiled wider. Then, Luke, nudged Jake and whispered something to him, looking at her in a concerned way. Jake nodded, then folded his arms and looked at her, checking her out from head to toe. She felt very beautiful.
"Is it?" Luke asked, and Jake silenced him with a finger. After a while, Jake spoke.
"Miss, may I trouble you for your name?" She had to think about it, and after discarding several stupid fake ones, she gave her real name.
"Samantha." All of their eyes widened.
"Samantha what?" Jake asked, harshly.
"Why does it-" He grabbed her arms and looked into her eyes.
"Samantha, I need your last name. Please."
"Charde," she gave up. "Spelled c-h-a-r-d-e." They all nodded in unision, and Jake followed her as she walked away. He didn't say anything, but did not lose her. She was uneasy, but let him follow her.
"Hey sexy," a large, ugly man called as he grabbed her arm. "What do you say we get out of here, and have some fun?"
"I'm sorry," she explained. "But I'm not interested, and I have a friend. So, I-"
"She can come too." He said as he tried to look down her shirt, but it was too high. she pulled her arm back and declined again. He grabbed her shoulders. "I'm not taking no for an answer, slut!"
"Excuse me, sir!" Jake called as he stepped beside her. "I believe the lady said no. So, if you don't mind." He quickly and easily pried off the man's arms and glared at him. The man looked fearfully into his eyes, then screamed
"Seraphim!" It instantly transormed into this huge, slimy green-scaled monster, with large teeth.
Luke was there, grabbing Sam and pulling. another man grabbed Lucy and led them out. All around them, strange men transformed into the huge monsters. The other three men stood by Jake and faced the monsters. Their eyes grew hot, and huge fiery wings appeared and spread out, lighting up the dark club. They drew swords and waited for the enemy to attack first.
"I love stags," said one. "They're so easy and stupid, and fun."
"Shut up, Mike." Jake said. Let's just hope they're all here, and not outside. He counted twenty, and they sprang into action
Each Seraphim took on five stags. Their fiery swords sparked as they deflected and attacked the poisoned blades. Screams and shouts flew through the air as they cut down their enemy, one by one. Jake was hit by a tabkle, and briafly knelt to catch his breath. Mike had been cut on the arm, but it didn't matter. The only way to kill a Seraphim was to take out his heart or take off his head.
They let out a huge roar as they cut down the last of them, challenging any unseen foes. Jake smiled and looked aroung the trashed club. The police would be arriving soon. The skirmish lasted six minutes, but it seemed longer. Oh well, superhuman strength and speed are there for a reason. They made their way across the street to the dock where their freinds and the girls were.
