(Your POV)
I had been playing Halo Reach for two hours now on (Xbox live/ PlayStation network). I was playing with my best online friend, Pizzapal201, who happened to live in the same area as me. He was a great gamer and we played often. And though we were always in a chatroom together when we played, he had never heard me speak but I had heard his voice often. I had my long (h/c) pulled up into a ponytail with my black headset acting as a head band so I could keep it out of my (e/c) eyes as I concentrated. My (f/c) hoodie was wrapped around myself as I sat in my leather gaming chair wearing only my tanktop and pajama shorts.
"Okay, so go left and use your jetpack to climb that cliff," Pizzapal instructed. He was telling me how to find a secret weapon that he already had.
I did as he said and made my character come back to the start point holding the legendary gravity hammer. I made my character jump up and down as he laughed. We played for another hour and eventually came to the war part at the end. I ran across the beach as I tried to survive for as long as possible even though the point is to die. As I tried to make my character jump over the incoming Elite driving a Ghost alien vehicle, the game glitches and I was ran over.
"That's bullshit," I said without realizing that the mic was on on my headset.
"You can say that again," Pizzapal said before he realized that he had heard my voice. When he did realize it though, he almost yelled through the mic, "you're a girl?!?!"
"Oops, surprise," I said and then almost immediately logged off. I gripped my knees close to my chest and rubbed my hands together thinking about all the possibilities: 'what if he was one of the cool guys that weren't going to flirt with me all the time because I'm a really good gamer? But what if he is?' I slowly decided to log back on and Pizzapal201 had sent me a message.
Hey (gamer tag), I'm sorry if I freaked you out by freaking out that you were a girl. Your a really good gamer that I was just surprised to find out that you were a girl and not a guy. I promise I won't freak out again when we're in a chatroom together again.... If you still want to be in a chat room that is.
I read the message and chewed on my lip for a minute. Thinking about the message, I remembered that he had been my online friend since I started my (Xbox Live/ PlayStation network) account two years ago and not asked once why I didn't speak. Before I could talk myself out of it, I pressed the chatroom icon and invited him into the chat. He accepted the request and joined.
"(Gamer tag)?" He questioned after a moment.
"Yea, pizzapal?" I responded and flinched as I prepared for him to freak out again.
"I'm sorry," he said sounding genuinely upset with his behavior.
"I forgive you. Not many people know I'm a girl," I giggled shrugging my shoulders trying to play it off.
"Are you okay with me knowing your secret? Wow, I make you sound like superhero," he said laughing at himself.
"Yea, I'm cool with it," I giggled and then thought about something. "One condition though. You can't flirt with me because I'm a badass gamer okay?"
      "Yes, ma'am," he said.
After talking with him for a bit, I found out the he went to the same college as me.
"No way," I said after he said that he went into the cafe all the time before school. "I'm always in the cafe before classes, too." We were back to playing games by this point.
"Want to meet up? And no, I'm staying by my promise and not asking you as a date. Its more of a friendly face to face meeting between friends," he said sniping some zombies as we played Left4Dead.
"Okay," I said as my character ran up some stairs and hung from a ledge making several zombies fall off and kill themselves. "My name is (y/n), by the way."
"I'm Chic," he responded. "See you tomorrow then."
We said our goodbyes as I yawned making him laugh. Turning off my (game system of choice), I crawled into bed and closed my eyes.

~time skip~
The cafe was quiet as I entered the building at 6:30 in the morning. I was the only one there that early so I had my pick of seats. I chose the one closest to the window facing towards the door. I ordered a (favorite Starbucks drink or drink of choice) when I was asked by the barista. Taking my laptop out of my bag, I began doing homework.
After five minutes, I heard the chimes  of the door causing me to look up. When I caught sight of who it was, I hid behind my laptop's screen. It was the guy I had said was the major hottie when I talked to my sister yesterday. I told her I don't know his name and I still didn't but why was he in here?
He wore a pair of dark brown skinny jeans with a white sleeveless T-shirt that said "let's eat" on the front. Tied around his neck was a a light brown bandana like a scarf. His blonde hair hung down almost to his shoulders and was layered to give it that razor-cut look. His violet eyes sparkled in the light as he looked up at the menu.
Seeming to feel my gaze on him, he glanced in my direction. I ducked and practically smacked my face on my keyboard. Shit! That hurt.... I thought as I rubbed my nose.
"Who's that girl? Is she always in here this early?" He asked the barista.
He caught me! Good job, girl. You just got caught staring at a hottie who probably thinks you are the weirdest girl ever, I thought mentally face-palming as I laid my chin against the table.
"That's (y/n). She is always in here this early. Either doing homework or reading. Why? Is she in trouble?" The barista asked.
"What? No," I chanced a glance in his direction and caught him looking back at me. He waved before looking back at the barista. "I was supposed to meet her here this morning."
That's Chic?!?! My best gamer bud is my secret crush?!?!  I sat up quickly and looked at him as he approached.
"(Y/n)?" He said. As he walked over to my table. "May I sit with you?"
I couldn't think of a single response so all I could do was nod. What the hell is happening? He slid into the booth after thanking me and took a sip of his coffee.
"Can I tell you something?" He asked half whispering. And that's when I saw the faint blush on his cheeks. I could only nod once again. "You're actually kinda cute."
Did he just call me cute? I began to feel my cheeks heat up which caused me to speak but I didn't say what I had hoped would come out of my cool mouth. "Really? You're pretty hot yourself." Real smooth, stupid. I physically face-palmed this time.
"Really? You think so?" His blush grew but he gave me a big smile.
We talked for a little while, agreeing to meet up at my place to play games later. The relationship would only grow from there and let me tell you, it was beautiful.
