It was dark in the party room of the pizzeria. The mysterious atmosphere of the building made me more than curious; and, if I was a cat, I would have been long dead. The hairs on my arms stood on edge as I kept looking around and mostly behind me. I felt that I was being watched but it was just my imagination, right? I mean, who else would want to work at a place where several children had gone missing at night? Especially, when one of the animatronics had taken a bite off of a kid 15 years ago, in '87. Me!!!! The girl who absolutely loved this place even after my parents told me what happened to the poor kid. I was only 3 years old when it all happened so I don't remember it.
I took the job as the night guard for two reasons: 1.) I wanted to hang out in the most fun and amazing place from my childhood ~plus it was the place of many creepy rumors~ and 2.) I really needed money to pay for my senior fees and dresses for dances I didn't want to wear for my graduation and prom.
I used my phone as a flashlight and tried hard not to trip and pop any balloons ~which failed I might add~ as I navigated the room. The stage was at the front of the room and empty except for the dim lights that lit up the stage. As I drew nearer, I noticed the red guitar that Bonnie used was sitting by itself, propped against the wall to keep it from falling over. Other than myself and the guitar the room was empty. The animatronics were roaming the halls trying to kill me and my only reason that would excuse me giving myself away, without a safe room, was that it was harder to catch a moving target... Right?
As I reached toward the guitar to gently strum the strings, something crashed against the floor making a loud POP sound. I immediately dropped to the floor and crawled under the nearest table. My long (h/c) ponytail fell over my shoulder and barely dragged the floor as I waited. No other sound was made. Did my scared and excited brain conjure up the sound? I laid against the floor and quietly peeked out under the tablecloth. In my face were a pair of brightly polished black dress shoes. Without moving the tablecloth, I looked up at the man.
He wore a dark brown suit with a black bowtie and a black top-hat. He had light brown hair that curled at the ends when it reached his shoulders and brown bear ears that sat on top of his head and poked through small slits cut into the side of his hat. Before I even looked at his bright blue eyes, I knew who this man was: Freddy.
Almost as if he knew I was there, he looked down at where I lay and leaned down to grab me, but someone beat him to it. I was pulled out from under the table and picked up bridal style by whoever it was. They ran still carrying me. I had my eyes closed from the moment I felt them grab me; and, as they ran, I squealed and grabbed their shirt.
When they had stopped running and had set my down on a comfy chair, I opened my eyes and looked at them as they closed the door. My eyes widened and I seemed to forget how to breathe. The man that had carried me here had on a pair of purple denim jeans and a pair of black boots. He wore a lavender colored silk shirt, which was tucked into the top of his jeans to show off his black belt with a big silver rectangle buckle with the shape of music notes carved into it, under a dark purple vest. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to show his arms which were adorned with thin gel bracelets and a silver watch on his left wrist. His layered, razor cut hair was dark purple, almost black, and stopped midway between his chin and neck in length. His eyes were a deep shade of crimson and sparkled in the fluorescent lights of the parts sand services room. On top of his head sat a pair of purple bunny ears that I absolutely adored and would have gone up to him and rubbed between my fingers if I hadn't been scared out of my mind. His name was Bonnie.
"Are you okay?" He asked quietly. He didn't step towards me. Seeming to realize that I was scared, he held up his hands.
When I was little, I loved Bonnie because I thought bunnies had the ability to see the goodness in everything. Then, when I became a teenager and my hormones kicked in, I thought he was the hottest guy at the pizzeria, not even a guy that would talk to me because he was a robot. But right now, he didn't seem like a robot. He seemed like a human being that cared that I might be killed in my childhood escape.
"(Y/n)?" Bonnie still hadn't moved.
"How do you know my name?" I asked standing and trying look big and brave.
"Its, uh... On your name tag," Bonnie pointed at me then at his own chest on the right side.
"Oh," I looked down and then back at him. My heart pounded because I wanted to run and I wanted to hug him at the same time. How could you hug someone who could possibly kill you at any moment? So instead I decided to ask what I had been wondering. "Why did you save me?"
"Um... Well..." He rubbed the back of his neck and blushed slightly as he looked away from me. "I don't think you should be killed. You're kind and not the bad guy."
"Bad guy?" I asked as I slowly walked up to him. I hadn't even realized I had moved until I saw that I was standing right in front of him.
"The bad guy is who we call the purple guy. Because he killed those kids and can't seem to be found by the police, we're trying to get revenge on him and kill him. But we go after all the security guards and kill them because we don't know what he looks like. All we know is... well, he is a male and you are the first female security guard, so I decided to save you," he said and blushed a deeper red when he realized how close I had gotten.
"Thank you, Bonnie," I stepped away and looked at the ground to hide my pink cheeks. What am I doing?
"Aren't you scared of me?"
That's when I realized what I was doing. I wasn't scared of him and was getting closer to him to feel safe. I felt myself smile when I realized that bunnies, whether they are human bunnies or not, can sense the good in people. My smile slipped from my face when my hormones started acting up again.
"No, I am not scared of you. You are perceptive like I thought you would be and gentle. When I was little, I used to convince my mom to bring me here so I could see you. You were my favorite and still are, not because you saved my life but because...," what was my reason? Surely, its not that I love him because he's a robot. My heart hurt when that thought crossed my mind, not because it was broken but because it was a lie. I did love this bunny man but what if he didn't love me back?
"(Y/n)?" He had been looking at me the entire time I debated with my feelings. Now he was curious if I would be alright.
"Bonnie, I...,"
A loud banging noise was heard on the other side of the locked door. Bonnie stepped away from the door and grabbed me, holding me close to him. More banging was heard before it stopped.
"Bonnie, you can't have all the fun, its not fair," a female's voice was heard on the other side of the door.
"Wont you let us in?" Freddy asked from the other side of the door.
"Ye can't keep us out long, mate," said a piratey voice that I assumed was Foxy's.
"I'm not letting you guys in. You can forget that. I'm going protect the night guard. She is not the purple guy," Bonnie yelled at the door. He tightened his arms around me protectively and I wrapped my arms around him to feel a little bit calmer. I watched his eyes get wide and a light blush crawl across his cheeks in response to my actions, but he didn't remove his eyes from the door.
"She?" The girl's voice sounded excited. "Can I please come in? I want to see her. We could be friends."
"Its a lass?" Foxy said. "Well, what be the point in killing her if she not be the purple guy? Open the door so I can say me apologies to the lass."
"She's not even related to the purple guy?" Freddy asked.
"No, she is not. I told you that earlier," Bonnie said.
"Well, can we say we're sorry to her?" Freddy asked.
I hugged Bonnie tightly because I didn't know to do but I did hear sincerity in their voices so I would have liked to say I opened the door. Of course, that would be a lie, so I stayed hugging Bonnie. " what do you think?" The question rolled off my tongue as I was thinking it.
"Me? They were trying to kill you. I don't have an opinion in this decision. Only you do," Bonnie replied, looking from the door to me.
"I would like to hear their apologies, but after I say something to you," I took a deep breath to keep myself calm as I spoke, "Bonnie, I've loved you ever since I was a child."
"Well, that makes two of us," he smiled and gave me a quick kiss. Then after realizing what he did, he blushed a deep scarlet and tried to apologize. "(Y/n), I..."
I cut him of by kissing him again. "Don't apologize. I wanted you to do that."
Bonnie just stared at me like I was a rare diamond that got handed to him for safe keeping.
"How about we talk to the others?" I said blushing lightly and moving away from him to the door. As I opened the door, he intertwined his fingers with mine.
The girl came in first and hugged me. "I'm Chica. Sorry for scaring you and trying to kill you."
"My apologies for the misunderstanding," Freddy said patting me on the shoulder as he stepped into the room.
"Lass, I'm sorry for the fright I've caused ye," Foxy stood by Freddy as he spoke.
"Apologies accepted," my stomach growled as soon as I said that. "I'm starving from all that excitement. Who's hungry?"
We all headed to the kitchen and I began to make a delicious pizza for us all to share. By the time we finished eating, it was 5:55 a.m. and we had to say goodbye. I gave each of them a hug before they returned to their spots. Before I let go of Bonnie, I gave him a quick kiss and made myself a promise: I would continue to work here and I would help them find the purple guy and help them get their revenge.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
