Chapter 24 I need her.

Katie's (POV)

I woke up in the hospital not knowing a single thing. I saw a crying Riker. "Rik what's the matter with you?" I asked. "Its not what's the matter with me. Its what's wrong with you." he cried even harder and walked out. Whats wrong with me. I pressed the nurse button and waited for her. "What's wrong with me nurse?" I asked with a confused tone. "Katie.. you have leukemia. Its a bone marrow cancer. It.. It just might kill you. I'm sorry." she said with sympathy. I took that all in then started crying bad. Ross came in and gave me a huge hug. "Did you.." he interrupted me "I know let's not talk about it. I love you. " "Ross I'm so scared. Please tell me I'm dreaming" I begged. " I wish Katie." We stood there a while just crying on each other. Then he spoke up "Everyone knows. They want to come visit you" he said. "That's fine" I said wiping away my tears.

*10 minutes later*

Ross's (POV)

I can't believe this is happening. I need to stay strong for her though. I'll just have to suck it up. Why is life so hard? My thoughts were interrupted by my family walking in. They were all crying. We all knew this girl since we were little. My eyes were actually hurting due to me crying so much. My family each went up to her and hugged Katie and cried with her. I was still next to her holding her hand. While we were all talking a nurse walked in and told us that Katie needed to stay with them. "I'm tireddddd." Riker whined. "Let's go then. Come on Ross." My mom said. "I'm staying" I pleaded. "OK. Keep an eye on her. Call us I'd you need anything." I nodded. I sat next to her and turned on the TV. She woke up by the sound. "Did your family leave?" she asked. "Yes." I replied. "Why are you still here? Its not like I'm complaing though." she asked curiously. "I'm not leaving you here." She leaned in and kissed me. I don't want to lose her. She needs to make it through this I need her.
