Alice, who just finished her shift at the café, was walking down the road when she stopped at a music store round the corner.
The door was wide open and anyone who would pass by the place could surely hear the wonderful singing voice of a man accompanied by the melody of a guitar.
A smile crept up on Alice's face as she leaned against the doorway, eyes focused on the man sitting on a bench strumming in perfect tune.
She closed her eyes for a bit, letting his entrancing voice serenade her and melt her entirety. It was so soothing that it washed all of her worries and thoughts away.
Take my hand
Take my whole life tooElvis would be proud if he heard this man sing.
For I can't help
Falling in love with youAs soon as Keith finished his song, Alice approached him and smiled when he got surprised by her appearance.
"Hey, sing me a song, will you?
Keith let out a laugh, "Sorry, we're closed."
"Just one song? Please?" Alice begged, and the way she looked like a puppy that lost its mother at that time made it hard for Keith to say no.
Keith chuckled and looked up, "What should I sing? Hmm . . . "
"Anything's fine. You have the voice of an angel anyway."
"Like I don't know that." He raised a brow, smirked, then started strumming his guitar. He slightly opened his mouth then closed it again, conflicted if he should sing the song that was currently in his mind.
He stopped playing and changed the chords to a different song.
Will it ever be?
I've tried so hard to find sweet serenity
Are you still afraid?
Just close your eyes and dream, and fear will fade awayAlice's lips slowly curved upwards as she studied Keith's fingers plucking the guitar's strings. The setting sun was bathing the town with warm colors, and how it ethereally illuminated Keith's side profile fascinated her, like everything came out of an indie film.
Boys Like Girls was resonating through her head as she scanned the aisles of food.
Alice was back at the corner shop once again, grabbing some chocolate bars and maybe eat a popsicle while she's at it.
She removed an earbud when it kept on falling off as she crouched down the display. From a distance, she could hear someone humming the song she was listening to.
Alice didn't pay much attention to it, but when the person passed by her and casually sang a part of the song in a low tone, she instinctively stood up to look for the origin of the voice.
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunderShe looked around the store and noticed the hooded man in front of the register. Alice was curious if he was the one humming to the song, but since his back was facing her and the hoodie was on the way, she had no idea who the person could be. She couldn't possibly go near to ask, because that's just absurd.
All that's left with her was the thought that his voice sounded awfully familiar, and curiosity still lingering, as the person wearing a hood exited the store.
